Successfully Completed | Community Convening (GGMF 2026)

We are pleased to share the successful completion of the Community Convening (GGMF 2026) organized by Rohingya Youth Union (RYU) at Camp 1E, Cox’s Bazar Refugee Camp.

The event brought together 40 participants, including Rohingya women leaders, youth representatives, educators, and community volunteers, to discuss the importance of inclusive migration governance and community participation.

Key Highlights: Amplified the voices of Rohingya women and youth in migration governance discussions.

• Identified key challenges related to education, protection, statelessness, and future opportunities.
• Promoted meaningful participation of women and youth in decision-making processes.
• Highlighted the importance of community-led initiatives and grassroots leadership.
• Developed recommendations aligned with the Global Compact for Migration (GCM).
• Strengthened dialogue on rights, dignity, protection, and sustainable solutions for the Rohingya community.

Through these 10-week programmes, participants will gain practical skills in:
• Leadership and teamwork
• Communication and dialogue

Participants will also:
• Work on real community-based projects
• Connect with inspiring youth and mentors
• Receive Internationally Recognized certificate upon successful completion

The discussion will focus on collaborative strategies to mitigate disinformation before it escalates into violence or diplomatic crises, and on promoting regional cooperation in a part of the world too often defined by conflict and mistrust.

☘️ Be our Pioneering Rohingya Youth Fellow ☘️

The Rohingya people endure profound persecution and invisibility across South and Southeast Asia, living as stateless refugees denied citizenship, mobility, education, and agency. While crises bring fleeting public awareness and attention, Rohingya youth mostly remain unseen as thinkers, leaders, and history-makers. This fellowship counters that erasure by empowering you to reclaim your narrative through storytelling.

What are we looking for?

🌱 Rohingya youth (age 18-30)
🌱 Interest in strengthening your narrative building skills and creating impact through different mediums of storytelling.
🌱 English speaking and writing skills (basic to intermediate).
🌱 We strongly encourage Rohingya young women, young people with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ and gender-diverse youth, displaced and refugee youth, and others to apply for this storytelling fellowship.
🌱 We greatly welcome applicants connected to organizations, community groups, or networks; formal or informal, as this is an opportunity to scale impacts of our storytelling fellowship.

*How long will the fellowship last?*
The fellowship will last for 10-12 weeks and it will be held through online synchronous and asynchronous sessions.

Rohingya Youth Union (RYU), a youth-led grassroots organization working to empower Rohingya communities through advocacy, education, and leadership, is pleased to invite expressions of interest for its Board of Directors.
As we strengthen our governance and expand our impact, we are seeking committed and experienced individuals to join our Board in the following positions:

Available Board Positions:
• Chairperson
• Treasurer (Finance Expert)
• Board Secretary (Governance & Administration)
• Member – Gender & GBV Specialist
• Member – Youth & Education Specialist
• Member – Advocacy & Human Rights Expert
• Member – International Advisor

Roles and Responsibilities:
Board members will:

• Provide strategic direction and governance oversight
• Ensure accountability, transparency, and ethical leadership
• Support organizational growth, partnerships, and fundraising
• Offer expertise relevant to RYU’s mission

Who We Are Looking For:
