Young people speaking up for better public services!

Our Youth Peacebuilders from Hnila, Whykong and Palongkhali Unions led Public Service Awareness (PSA) and Advocacy sessions with Union Parishad Chairmen and Members:

The young leaders planned and ran each session themselves. They shared their community's needs, asked questions, and talked openly with local leaders about how public services can be easy, fair, transparent and open to everyone. Many community members joined and shared their views too.

We are thankful to the UP Chairmen and Members for listening to the youth and for their kind support. When young people and local leaders work together, our communities grow stronger and more peaceful.

On 7–8 October 2026, SHED held a Digital Security and Fact-Finding/Checking Website Orientation Workshop at Hotel Ne-Taung, Teknaf.

In two batches, 30 Youyh Digital Peace Ambassadors joined us. They are young people from both the Rohingya camps and host communities in Teknaf and Ukhiya Upazila. With the support of two external consultants, they learned how to stay safe online, check facts, spot false news, and use fact-checking websites.

These young leaders are now better prepared to stop rumours and hate speech, and to share true and helpful information in their communities.

Thank you to all the participants for their energy and ideas, and to our facilitators for their guidance.

Strengthening Partnerships in the Capital City!
​ We've officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hotel Omni Residency for discounted rates on accommodations and event venues at both their Banani and Baridhara branches.
​This partnership ensures comfortable, well-equipped and corporate-friendly facilities for our team members, guests, and organizational events whenever we are in Dhaka.

International Day of Peace 2026 | Peace & Social Cohesion Dialogue | Teknaf

“Invest in Peace: For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day.”

On 23 September, SHED brought together Youth-Led Organisations and youth peacebuilders from host communities, alongside Refugee-Led Organisations and Rohingya youth, to create a space for dialogue, shared learning and collective action for peace and social cohesion in Teknaf.

The dialogue connected young people with community leaders and local duty bearers, while showcasing youth-led peacebuilding through stories, photographs and creative expressions. Participants also developed a Collective Peace Action Plan, recognising that sustainable peace must be shaped by communities themselves.

The day also recognised 24 former youth peacebuilders and 15 Youth-Led Organisations, and brought camp and host-community youth together through cultural expression.

The initiative is part of Youth-Led Peacebuilding and Social Cohesion Initiatives in Bangladesh and Myanmar, co-funded by the European Union and implemented by SHED and ActionAid Bangladesh.

SHED continues to create spaces where young people can connect, lead dialogue and turn their ideas into action for peace.

🌱 International Day of Peace 2026 | Peace starts with us

In Cox’s Bazar, young people are showing that peacebuilding begins with everyday actions.

Through Youth Peace Cafés, Community Watch Groups and youth-led initiatives, young Rohingya and host community members are finding spaces to listen, build trust and work together on issues that affect their communities.

We are seeing young people speak with greater confidence, community leaders making space for youth voices, and people from different communities coming together around shared concerns and solutions.

These may be small steps, but they are helping build stronger relationships, safer communities and greater social cohesion.

This International Day of Peace, we celebrate the young people turning dialogue into action.

Peace starts with us. ✨
