Happy Labour Day.

In refugee camps, many workers do essential jobs in harsh conditions. They clean, build, care, and support daily life, often with little pay and little recognition.

Their work keeps the community alive. Their dignity must be protected.

Today is a reminder to value their labour and stand for fair treatment, safety, and respect.

⭐️ Now that we’ve announced the results of our 2026 applications, we believe it’s just as important to share what came before: real feedback, honest reflections, and key lessons from previously funded State of Youth Chapters.

🩵 These insights come directly from young leaders on the ground: what worked, what didn’t, and what they wish they knew when starting out. Whether it’s building sustainable impact, engaging communities, or navigating challenges – these lessons are here to guide and inspire the next generation of changemakers.

👉 Stay tuned as we continue to share more learnings from our Chapters. And if you’re not a Chapter yet, head to the link in bio to sign up for free and start your own State of Youth Chapter today!

More than 250 Rohingya individuals and Bangladeshi nationals are feared dead or missing following a tragic boat capsize in the Andaman Sea.

The Refugee Empowerment Network respectfully urges the international community to strengthen coordinated global support for Rohingya refugees. Immediate and sustained action is needed to address the root causes of displacement and to ensure conditions that allow for safe, dignified, and voluntary return.

Nearly blind and unable to speak English, Shah Alam was recently dropped off in Buffalo by agents far from his home and with no notice provided to his family. REN stands against this shocking treatment. Rohingya refugees across the world deserve protection and care, not to be abandoned in unfamiliar places.
