জাতীয় যুব স্বেচ্ছাসেবী পুরস্কার ২০২৬ অর্জন করায় রাজাখালী উন্মুক্ত পাঠাগার এবং জাহিদুল ইসলামকে We Can Cox's Bazar এর পক্ষ থেকে আন্তরিক শুভেচ্ছা ও অভিনন্দন।

তরুণদের স্বেচ্ছাসেবামূলক কর্মকাণ্ড, সামাজিক উন্নয়ন এবং মানবিক সমাজ গঠনে এ ধরনের স্বীকৃতি নিঃসন্দেহে অনুপ্রেরণার উৎস। তাঁদের এই অর্জন কক্সবাজারসহ সারা দেশের তরুণদের মানুষের কল্যাণে এগিয়ে আসতে এবং ইতিবাচক পরিবর্তনে ভূমিকা রাখতে উৎসাহিত করবে বলে আমরা বিশ্বাস করি।

মানুষের জন্য কাজ করার এই অঙ্গীকার আরও বহুদূর এগিয়ে যাক।

We Can Cox’s Bazar-এর আহ্বান: নিরাপদ পর্যটন ও দায়িত্বশীল উন্নয়নে সম্মিলিত উদ্যোগ চাই

১৭ অক্টোবর ২০২৬, ইনানীর পাটুয়ারটেক এলাকায় টুপটুপ রিসোর্ট অ্যান্ড রেস্টুরেন্টে ভয়াবহ অগ্নিকাণ্ডে প্রাণহানির ঘটনায় We Can Cox’s Bazar গভীর শোক প্রকাশ করছে। নিহতদের পরিবারের প্রতি আন্তরিক সমবেদনা এবং আহতদের দ্রুত সুস্থতা কামনা করছি।

কক্সবাজার আমাদের গর্ব, আমাদের জীবিকা এবং দেশের অন্যতম গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পর্যটন গন্তব্য। পর্যটন খাতের বিকাশ, বিনিয়োগ বৃদ্ধি ও কর্মসংস্থান সৃষ্টির পাশাপাশি পর্যটক, স্থানীয় বাসিন্দা এবং পর্যটন খাতে কর্মরত সবার নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করা আমাদের সম্মিলিত দায়িত্ব।

সাম্প্রতিক দুর্ঘটনাগুলো আমাদের পর্যটন ব্যবস্থাপনা, অগ্নিনিরাপত্তা, অ্যাডভেঞ্চার পর্যটনের নিরাপত্তা এবং পরিবেশ সংরক্ষণে আরও কার্যকর ও সমন্বিত উদ্যোগ গ্রহণের গুরুত্ব স্মরণ করিয়ে দেয়।

এ প্রেক্ষাপটে We Can Cox’s Bazar সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষ, পর্যটন ব্যবসায়ী, স্থানীয় জনগণ ও নাগরিক সমাজের প্রতি কয়েকটি গঠনমূলক প্রস্তাব তুলে ধরছে।

আমাদের প্রস্তাব ও প্রত্যাশা:

১. কক্সবাজারের হোটেল, রিসোর্ট ও রেস্টুরেন্টগুলোতে নিয়মিত অগ্নিনিরাপত্তা ও প্রযোজ্য অনুমোদন যাচাইয়ের উদ্যোগ নেওয়া।

২. পর্যটন স্থাপনাগুলোতে জরুরি বহির্গমনপথ, অগ্নিনির্বাপণ সরঞ্জাম, প্রশিক্ষিত কর্মী এবং জরুরি সাড়াদান ব্যবস্থা আরও শক্তিশালী করা।

৩. প্যারাসেইলিংসহ অ্যাডভেঞ্চার পর্যটনে প্রশিক্ষণ, সরঞ্জামের মান, আবহাওয়া পর্যবেক্ষণ ও উদ্ধারব্যবস্থা নিশ্চিত করতে সংশ্লিষ্ট অংশীজনদের সমন্বিতভাবে কাজ করা।

৪. সৈকত, বালিয়াড়ি ও পরিবেশগতভাবে সংবেদনশীল এলাকার সুরক্ষায় বিদ্যমান আইন, পরিবেশগত নির্দেশনা ও আদালতের আদেশ যথাযথভাবে বাস্তবায়ন করা।

৫. সাম্প্রতিক দুর্ঘটনাগুলোর কারণ পর্যালোচনা করে ভবিষ্যতে এ ধরনের ঘটনা প্রতিরোধে কার্যকর সুপারিশ ও বাস্তবায়ন পরিকল্পনা গ্রহণ করা।

৬. পর্যটন খাতের নিরাপত্তা ও পরিবেশ সংরক্ষণে স্থানীয় তরুণ, বাসিন্দা, ব্যবসায়ী ও নাগরিক সমাজের অংশগ্রহণে নিয়মিত সংলাপ এবং সহযোগিতার সুযোগ তৈরি করা।

আমরা বিশ্বাস করি, পর্যটন খাতের উন্নয়ন ও নিরাপত্তা একে অপরের পরিপূরক। নিরাপদ পরিবেশ পর্যটকদের আস্থা বাড়াবে, ব্যবসায়িক কার্যক্রমকে আরও টেকসই করবে এবং স্থানীয় মানুষের কর্মসংস্থান ও জীবিকার সুযোগকে শক্তিশালী করবে।

We Can Cox’s Bazar সংশ্লিষ্ট সকল অংশীজনের সঙ্গে গঠনমূলক আলোচনা ও সহযোগিতার মাধ্যমে একটি নিরাপদ, দায়িত্বশীল ও পরিবেশবান্ধব পর্যটন ব্যবস্থা গড়ে তোলার প্রত্যাশা রাখে।

আসুন, পারস্পরিক সহযোগিতা ও সম্মিলিত উদ্যোগের মাধ্যমে কক্সবাজারকে এমন একটি পর্যটন গন্তব্য হিসেবে গড়ে তুলি, যেখানে উন্নয়ন, মানুষের নিরাপত্তা এবং প্রকৃতি সংরক্ষণ পাশাপাশি এগিয়ে যায়।

কক্সবাজার এগিয়ে যাক—নিরাপদ পর্যটন, দায়িত্বশীল উন্নয়ন ও সম্মিলিত উদ্যোগের পথে।

Youth Voices in Policy-Making: Rethinking Bangladesh’s National Youth Policy 2017

On 8 October 2026, Youth For Change Bangladesh Foundation, in collaboration with Bangladesh Youth Coalition (BYC), organised the Youth Dialogue on the Revision of National Youth Policy 2017 under the *Space to Lead project, supported by Plan International Bangladesh and Sida.

The dialogue brought together government representatives, youth leaders, youth-led organisations, and development partners to discuss existing policy gaps, emerging youth priorities, and recommendations for a more inclusive, responsive, and actionable National Youth Policy.

The event was honoured by the presence of Dr. Shaikh Mohammad Jobayed Hossain, Joint Secretary and Wing Chief, Youth Wing, Ministry of Youth and Sports, as Chief Guest; Mr. Md. Masum Ahmed, Deputy Secretary, Youth-1 Branch, Ministry of Youth and Sports, as Special Guest; and Mr. Mohammad Humayun Kabir, Deputy Secretary and Director (Planning), Department of Youth Development (DYD).

A key milestone was the presentation and handover of BYC’s youth-led Policy Recommendation Brief to representatives of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Department of Youth Development. Developed through BYC’s voluntary review of the National Youth Policy 2017, the brief presents young people's experiences, priorities, and recommendations for consideration in the ongoing policy revision process.

At We Can Cox’s Bazar, we believe young people must have meaningful opportunities to participate in policy development and decision-making. Their voices, lived experiences, and diverse needs should be reflected not only in policy consultations but also in implementation and accountability.

We appreciate the efforts of Youth For Change Bangladesh Foundation, Bangladesh Youth Coalition, Plan International Bangladesh, Sida, the distinguished government representatives, development partners, youth leaders, and all participants in advancing this important dialogue.

Meaningful youth participation goes beyond being heard. It means having a genuine role in shaping the policies and decisions that affect young people's present and future.

We are pleased to share that We Can Cox's Bazar has been elected as Coordinator – Youth Engagement of the Bangladesh Youth Coalition-BYC.

We Can Cox’s Bazar was elected through a voting process during the BYC EC Election & Special General Meeting 2026.

This initiative is being implemented by Youth For Change Bangladesh Foundation, the Secretariat of BYC, under the “Strengthening Bangladesh Youth Coalition (BYC)” initiative, in collaboration with Plan International Bangladesh through the Shomotay Tarunno: Youth for Equality Project, funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

We look forward to working with BYC members and partners to strengthen meaningful youth engagement, participation and leadership across Bangladesh.
