A month ago, on July 19th, Comilla University became a stage of possibility.
Hundreds of hearts and minds gathered for the second edition of TEDxCoU, where 11 voices carried 11 journeysโstories of courage, curiosity, and change. From decoding the genetic risks of cousin marriages to unraveling the unspoken language of human connectionโฆ from the struggles of early commitments to the resilience of leadership forged across military, corporate, and political frontlinesโฆ from telescopes built at home to Bangladeshโs silicon-powered tomorrowโour speakers gave us a glimpse of The Next Wave.
Mohammed Jakir Hosen opened a window into the genetic risks hidden within cousin marriages, while Nayeem Islam painted a roadmap for navigating an AI-ready future. Shafiqul Alam reminded us of Generation Zโs power to lead revolutions of trust, as Suman Kante Singha revealed how HR quietly shapes our everyday lives.
Leadership found a new meaning through Del H Khan, whose journey across military, corporate, and political frontline became a lesson in unity. Ananya Zaman envisioned a silicon-powered future for Bangladesh, while Farabi Hafiz unlocked the silent language of non-verbal cues. Creativity took center stage with Redoan Rony, who showed how logic and imagination converge when code transforms into cinema.
From building telescopes at home, Zubayer Kaolin reframed how we see the universe; from street corners to five-star boardrooms, A.K.M. Lutfur Rahman shared timeless lessons of resilience; and in the quiet struggles of early commitments, Asif Akbar reminded us of the life lessons hidden in hardship.
With the visionary presence of Professor Dr. Md. Haider Ali, Vice-Chancellor of Comilla University, alongside esteemed faculty and advisors, the day-long event became more than a gatheringโit became a celebration of ideas, of youth-led innovation, and of voices unafraid to lead.
Looking back, the hall still echoes with laughter, silence, applause, and awe. These were not just talksโthey were sparks. And together, they reminded us that The Next Wave is not comingโฆ itโs already here.
