Expressive Psychotherapy Course:
Building Awareness, Connection, and Professional Identity
======================
Yesterday (21 January 2026), Bangladesh Therapeutic Theatre Institute (BTTI) successfully completed Class 3 with the dedicated team members of MAMATA, as part of our ongoing capacity-building and psychosocial learning journey.

Before beginning the scheduled topic, the session started with a Working Contract process, where participants collectively engaged with core principles such as confidentiality, safety, mutual respect, voluntary participation, and non-judgmental attitude. This created a shared ethical and emotional foundation for a safe learning space.

The session then moved into practical sociometric exercises, where participants experienced different sociometry tools through action-based activities. These exercises helped make relationships, positions, emotions, and group dynamics visible—allowing participants to understand how connection, distance, inclusion, and choice operate within groups and communities.

As an introduction to Role Theory, several experiential games were facilitated, enabling participants to explore:

-personal roles
-professional roles
-emotional roles
-and role conflicts

This process supported participants in recognizing how identity, role, and social position influence their work with communities, rights-holders, and colleagues.

The session was not only about learning tools—it was about developing self-awareness, ethical practice, and human-centered professional identity.

This journey is more than training; it is a process of building reflective practitioners, conscious facilitators, and emotionally responsible development workers.

The Class conducted by Muhammad Shah Alam, Trainer and Coordinator of Bangladesh Therapeutic Theatre Institute (BTTI).
