Army Eye Camp in Sajek
Supported by Lions and Rotary Clubs
A day-long free eye treatment camp, organized by the Army, was held last Thursday in Khagrachhari. Local residents received medical services at the camp, which was arranged by the local Army Zone at Masalong Milanpara Government Primary School in No. 36 Sajek Union, Baghaichhari Upazila (Rangamati District)—an area under the jurisdiction of the Khagrachhari Region. At the camp, over a hundred people received free eye treatment and medication, while 41 individuals were provided with free eyeglasses. Captain Md. Habibullah Habib, the Regimental Medical Officer of the Army Zone, stated that 15 individuals would be taken to Chittagong this month for eye surgeries at the Lions Eye Hospital under the arrangements of the Army Zone.
The event was organized with the comprehensive support of the Rotary Club of Agrabad, Rotary Club of Chittagong Port City, Rotaract Club of Chittagong Lake City, Chittagong Lions Foundation, and Lions Club of Chittagong Phoenix. Attendees at the eye camp included Mohammad Mahabul Islam (Member Chairperson, Lions Club of Chittagong Phoenix), Engineer Jasim Uddin (Club President), Ujjal Kumar Mohintu (Vice President), Mamunur Rashid (Zone Chairperson), Omar Faruk (Treasurer), Dr. Abdur Rahman and Dr. Nazmul Hasan (Specialists, Chittagong Lions Foundation), and camp coordinators Mohammad Jasim Uddin, Rakib Hasan, Naim, and Mizan, among others.
