Successful Completion of the WNF Seminar on Total Quality Management (TQM)
The Chattogram AOTS Alumni Society (CAAS), affiliated with AOTS Japan, successfully organized a two-day WNF Seminar on Total Quality Management (TQM) on January 31 – February 1, 2025, at a prominent hotel in Agrabad, Chattogram. This seminar was implemented with the support of AOTS Japan under the World Network Friendship (WNF) Scheme, in cooperation with AOTS-ABK Dosokai, Alumni Society, Karachi Regional Center, Pakistan. The seminar aimed to enhance professionals' understanding of modern Japanese management techniques such as TQM, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement strategies to promote quality and efficiency in industrial enterprises.
The inaugural session was presided over by Mr. Latif Anwar Chowdhury, President of CAAS, and moderated by Engr. Md. Kamalur Rahman, Chairman of the Organizing Committee. The event was graced by Mr. M. A. Salam, Managing Director of Asian and DAF Group, as the Chief Guest. Mr. Syed Arshad Ali, an esteemed TQM Consultant from the AOTS-ABK Dosokai Karachi Regional Center, Pakistan, conducted the sessions as the keynote speaker and resource person.
A total of 55 participants from leading industrial and manufacturing organizations such as BSRM, Royal Cement, GPH Ispat, Asia Group, Kenpark & Regency, BITAC, BSA Group and several other companies actively participated in the seminar.
During his address, Mr. M.A. Salam emphasized that quality management is the backbone of sustainable industrial growth and highlighted the significance of implementing TQM principles for improving productivity and customer satisfaction. Mr. Syed Arshad Ali shared his expertise on TQM methodologies, Japanese management principles, quality assurance strategies, and problem-solving techniques, which were highly appreciated by the participants.
The Closing Ceremony, held on February 1, 2025, was honored by the presence of Mr. Hafizur Rahman, Administrator of FBCCI, as the Chief Guest. In his address, he praised CAAS and AOTS Japan for their continued efforts in enhancing human resource development in Bangladesh. He emphasized the importance of quality enhancement in businesses and industries to compete in the global market.
At the end of the seminar, certificates were awarded to all participants, recognizing their successful completion of the program.
The WNF Seminar on TQM is part of CAAS's broader mission to promote excellence in professional development by organizing training, workshops, and capacity-building programs with the support of AOTS Japan.
The event concluded with an expression of gratitude from Mr. Latif Anwar Chowdhury, President of CAAS, who reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to enhancing skills and knowledge for the betterment of Bangladesh’s industrial sector.
