‘Aparajita’ is an adult Literacy Program. It mainly focuses on the housekeeping personnel of Asian University for Women (AUW). It’s main focus is on Bengali reading and writing and on basic English. AUW is a multicultural University. It brings diversity in each and every aspect through its activities. It encourages and trains the students to go back to their communities and work for the develo

pment of their communities. Housekeeping personnel of AUW are also an important part of the AUW community. Basic education is important for people of all age regardless of their gender. To spread the knowledge of education among the housekeeping personnel of AUW and to make them to be able to read the basic necessary things, seven AUW students have started working on the ‘Aparajita Literacy Program’, which was initiated by Professor Christian Girard with the collaboration of our honorable Vice Chancellor Dr. Fahima Aziz. It’s main focus is on Bengali reading and writing and on basic English. Both of them have been a great support for this program from the very beginning. Sharmistha, Ms. Fahria Kabir, Ms. Arpita and Ms. Rimu Byadya are the persons who have been constantly monitoring on our functions and helping us to approach step by step. Sharmin Akter Sh*tol, Marina Afrin, Mousume Mile, Taslima Khatun, Bibi Joynab,Nur-E-Jannat, and Sadia Islam – are the teachers of Aparajita who have been working restlessly with the housekeeping personnel to make the program’s aim successful.
