Jugantar Samaj Unnayan Sangstha (JSUS) is a flourishing Non-Government Organization in Bangladesh which is highly determined to accelerate the socio-economic development throughout the country. The organization is working in the field of development utilizing participatory planning and communication as a key approach for sustainable development. One of its singular aims is ‘to effectiv
ely employ all forms of communicational methods in support of human development towards sustainability, and for meeting basic needs of the underprivileged in the development processes. JSUS has reached the mass people with 10 development projects at Chattogram district and few areas of Cox’s Bazar with the help of 203 educated, well-trained and dedicated staffs. From the head office of Chattogram, 10 project offices and 2 training centers programs of JSUS are always giving special attention to children, adolescents, PWD’s and women empowerment. JSUS also runs micro-finance programs that provide loan only to women owned IGA project. Considering the social phenomenon, JSUS gives priority of children, adolescents and women in the design of implementation. Success of child club, adolescent’s platform, preprimary education, ECCD, anti-trafficking awareness, child nutrition, life skill development, child health programs, programs on safe mental health, HIV, environment are remarkable among the programs of JSUS. Our Story:
Having seen the Hardship and distressful picture of poor people, philanthropists-educationist Mr. Yeasmin Parvin felt significant need to establish an organization to fulfill the crying needs of the poor people of the locality in association with some dedicated social workers our organization came into existence in the month of November 27, 1997. At the very beginning, JSUS launched Education Program for disadvantaged working children at Korbanigonj in old Chattogram. From 2003, JSUS started partnership with BRACs Education Support program (ESP) in Patiya and Anowara till 2016. From 2017, JSUS has started new partnership with BRACs second Chance Education Project, Ministry of Primary Education in the Chattogram city corporation area for smooth functioning of 95 centers. After successful completion of ESP in Moheshkhali, JSUS is starting new program of ESP in Banshkhali from 1st February 2020 to till now. During the developmental journey, JSUS has got different Local, National, International and Govt. organizations as the partners like BRAC Education Support Unit, National Disable Development Foundation, Australian Aid, CBM, and CDD. Besides partnership, JSUS has developed strong networking with 15 local, national and international levels networking organization and organizing different development programs in collaborating them. JSUS is running two training centers in Chattogram. These training centers provide hospitable training facilities. In upcoming years, JSUS hopes to establish audio-visual media center, make video documentaries on development issues, increase research activities, enhance staff capacity and expand program coverage. Our Vision: People of Bangladesh enjoy all fundamental rights where society is free from corruption, injustice and insecurity. Our Mission: Works as driving force for transforming societies towards sustainable development by promoting, advocating and implementing programs that address root causes of problems. Goal of JSUS: The ultimate goal of JSUS is to assist the socially and economically disadvantaged rural and urban people to develop their greater organization through mobilizing their skill and local resources, so that they may take active part in sustainable human and socio-economic development for the improvement of their living standard. Objectives: Ensure sustainable development through finding and solving problems those are challenging towards positive social change of disadvantaged people. Nature of the Organization: Human, Socio Economic development & welfare of under privileged people of the community by crating conciseness & providing logistic supports as and when required. What we do:
Provide free Education to working and dropped out children.
Ensure child rights, protection against trafficking, action against child abuse and exploitation.
Protecting children from prostitution and po*******hy.
Rescue, Rehabilitate/Reintegrate abused & exploited children.
Provide VGD support to disadvantaged women.
Provide Micro Finance service to Financially disadvantaged poor women.
Provide Income Generating Activity training to women.
Provide Legal Aid services.
Training on Disability friendly Disaster Management & Risk reduction.
Establish self-help groups for People with Disabilities, Establish Youth forum with local students and teenagers then conduct training, regular meetings and build awareness among them about their rights.
Ensure Healthcare for People with Disabilities.
Arrange meetings in School, Collage and Madrasas to build awareness on Disability and increase co-operation towards students with disability.
Provide Community ambulance and Physio therapy through 2 Therapy centers.
Create Awareness on: Women and children’s rights, Women and child trafficking prevention, prevention of Violence against women, child marriage prevention, reproductive health, child labor mitigation, Acid terror prevention, anti-militancy campaign, anti-smoking and drug addiction prevention, climate change, tree plantation, protection of bio diversity, disability friendly disaster management, prevention of Disability and help build a Disability friendly community.
