Sunshine Grammar School and College (SGS) has been the host for the 'National Earth Olympiad' for the fourth time. The event with the hard work of the Chittagong divisional team of' Bangladesh Youth Environmental Initiative' and dedicated 'Sunshine Earth Club' members was a success. Sunshine Earth Club celebrated "The International Day for the preservation of the ozone layer" in collaboration with Sasrai on the 16th of September. The event included an interactive session conducted by SM Farid Uddin Akhter, the secretariat of Sasrai. The event was held to raise awareness among the students about the environmental problems, mainly focusing on the sustainability of our current natural resources. Students from class 7 to 12 participated in the programme. The event with the hard work of the club members was a success.

National Earth Olympiad 2013 (NEO’13) is the second Earth and Environmental science Olympiad in Bangladesh. NEO’13 will take places across seven divisions of Bangladesh.

The top 250 participants from first round qualifies for the National round and the top 15 finalist qualify for the one-month long training session to participate at the International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO) at Mysore, India this year.
