✅About the Tutor/Mentor
Mohammad Shahnewaz Khan born in Chittagong, Bangladesh (1984), is a photographer, curator, educator, social activist. He holds a diploma and degree in professional photography and has completed numerous masterclasses and mentoring programs in photojournalism and documentary photography. In 2015, he received a scholarship from Syracuse University, USA. A lifelong learner, he has also studied philosophy, history, literature, poetry, song, dance, and acting. In 2016, he founded the Voice of Humanity and Hope Photography Institute (VOHH). He has received 500 international awards.
His photographs have featured in exhibitions in 100 countries worldwide, including: Museo de la Carcova, Pingyao Photography Festival, Yixian Photo Festival, Addis Foto Fest & Africa Foto Fest, PhotoVisa, Bursa Photofest; Ostroh Academy, Somerset House, ICP, United Nations HQ, JULA Festival, House of Lords, Royal Geographical Society, Siena, Lumiere brothers center of photography, Cortona On The Move.
As a freelance photojournalist, he has contributed to many leading global media outlets & has published work in over 500 journals, including: CNN, Al Jazeera, Guardian, Público, Sunday Times, Washington Post, IFC, Sputnik, Al Mayadeen, Amnesty, GAIN, BRAC, UNICEF, NATGEO & Time. His long-term documentary projects have been widely used for teaching & research in universities & institutions in Europe & USA. He is a member of the world-renowned Washington Post Talent Network. Shahnewaz has been invited to teach photography at Addis Photo Fest in Africa and Bursa Photo Fest in Turkey, and has traveled to over fifteen countries in pursuit of his photographic work.
