FBDA IN BRIEF :

Finance Business And Debating Association (FBDA), a unity of Finance Students of Chittagong University formed with a view to establishing a progressive debating culture in the department so that students can develop themselves with smart and intelligent communication and organizing skills. We work for finding out and grooming up orators & debaters of supreme quality through-

* Proper training

* Arranging workshop conducted by local & national experts

* Regular practice as well as

* Providing supportive platform to participate in national and international competitions

Our activities are aimed towards broadening the perceptions of the students with openness, rationality and respect for others’ views which will definitely guide them becoming a better human being. Commencing in 2007, Finance and Banking Debating Association or FBDA has been progressing in various debates, speech, business and communication related fields by stumping their authority. It’s members have gathered plenty of national & international debate experiences. Three times it bagged championship in Inter-department English Debate Competition.In prestigious business related competitions like BOM (Battle of Mind), Brandwitz, & Brainstorming the members of this organization marked them significantly. With it’s strong pool of human resources it has been organizing public speech, debate & business related contests with quite distinctive flavor since it’s inception in 2007.The contests are designed targeting the overall development of the concerned stakeholders. Through regular practice session, competition, participation and Event organizing under the full hearted support and patronization of the Teachers of the Department, FBDA is getting bigger and better. From inception to till now, it is still indisputably the grooming house of the finest English Debaters of the Region as well as of the nation.

𝗙𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀' 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗴

The Finance Business & Debating Association (FBDA) successfully hosted the Freshers' Reception 2026 to extend a warm welcome to the 34th Batch of the Department of Finance.

The program was formally inaugurated by Professor Dr. Mohiuddin Chowdhury. We were further honoured by the gracious presence of Professor Dr. Nesarul Karim, Chairman of the Department of Finance and Chief Adviser of FBDA; Professor Dr. Anupam Das Gupta; Professor Dr. Awlad Hosen Sagar; Ms. Tashfika Khanam; and Mr. Md. Rubaitur Rahat. Their inspiring words, valuable insights, and heartfelt encouragement greatly enriched the occasion and served as a source of motivation for our newly admitted students.

A special moment of the programme was the presentation of a commemorative crest to Professor Dr. Nesarul Karim in recognition of his dedicated leadership, unwavering guidance, and invaluable contributions to the Department of Finance and the Finance Business & Debating Association. The farewell tribute reflected our profound gratitude and sincere appreciation for his remarkable service and enduring impact on the department.
