EcoSwap: Trade Your Plastic for a Better Tomorrow 🌿

On May 25th, 2025, the NSTU Save Youth Chapter launched a unique initiative to celebrate International Plastic-Free Day - EcoSwap. We set up a booth on campus where students could exchange plastic waste for eco-friendly gifts.

Our goal was to create awareness about excessive plastic use and suggest more eco-friendly alternatives of single-use plastics. Beyond raising awareness, our goal was also to contribute to cleaning our campus and promoting a healthier environment for everyone. The initiative aimed to inspire sustainable habits among students and encourage responsible disposal of plastic waste.

We were truly honored by the presence of our respected Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Ismail Hossain, whose visit greatly encouraged us. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to our supportive moderators, Mahbuba Akter Shanta Ma’am and Sazzadul Karim Sir, for standing by us throughout the event.

We are proud to share that, through this campaign, we successfully collected and disposed of 24.5 kilograms of plastic waste - a small yet meaningful step toward a cleaner, greener NSTU.

Together, let’s continue building a more sustainable future. 🌿💚

EcoSwap: Trade Your Plastic for a Greener Tomorrow

প্লাস্টিক আজ আমাদের দৈনন্দিন জীবনের অবিচ্ছেদ্য অংশ হয়ে উঠেছে। এটি পরিবেশের জন্য ক্ষতিকর হলেও, রাতারাতি এর বিকল্প তৈরি করা কিংবা স্থাপন করা সম্ভব নয়। তবে আমরা যা করতে পারি, তা হলো—এর অতিরিক্ত ব্যবহার পরিহার করা এবং সচেতনভাবে বিকল্প ব্যবহার করা।

এছাড়াও, আমাদের ক্যাম্পাসের আনাচে-কানাচে প্রায়ই প্লাস্টিক বর্জ্য পড়ে থাকতে দেখা যায়। তাই প্লাস্টিক ব্যবহারে সচেতনতা বাড়াতে এবং ক্যাম্পাসের পরিবেশকে আরও সুন্দর করে তুলতেই আমাদের এই আয়োজন।

আগ্রহীদের করণীয়:
ক্যাম্পাসে ছড়িয়ে-ছিটিয়ে থাকা প্লাস্টিক বোতল, কাপ ও অন্যান্য বর্জ্য আমাদের বুথে এনে জমা দিন এবং পেয়ে যান গাছের চারা, ব্যাগ, পরিবেশবান্ধব পানির পাত্র কিংবা মাটির তৈরি শোপিসের মতো আকর্ষণীয় উপহার!

সামাজিক প্রাণী বলেই সমাজ বাস্তবতা নিয়ে আলোচনা-পর্যালোচনা করা মানুষের প্রাত্যহিক জীবনের অবিচ্ছেদ্য অংশ। ব্যক্তি, পরিবার, সমাজ বা রাষ্ট্রে ঘটে যাওয়া কিংবা ঘটতে থাকা প্রতিটি ঘটনাই এসব আলোচনার মূল রসদ।

তবে ইদানীংকালে দেশব্যাপী যা সব ঘটনা ঘটে চলেছে তা আমাদের জন্য যথেষ্ট উদ্বেগের। খবরের কাগজ, সামাজিক যোগাযোগ মাধ্যম খুললেই চোখে পড়ে মবের বিশৃঙ্খলা, গুম, খুন, ধর্ষণের মতো সব খবর। এসব দেখে চিন্তিত হয়ে পড়ি আমরা অনেকেই। অনেকেই ভাবি সমাধানের পথ।

দেশের সার্বিক পরিস্থিতি নিয়ে আপনার ভাবনা জানতে তাই সেইভ ইউথ নোবিপ্রবি চ্যাপ্টার আয়োজন করতে চলেছে একটি আর্ট কনটেস্ট - Legal Rights, Artistic Might : where creativity meets justice.

চিত্রকর্মের মাধ্যমে আপনার স্বকীয় ভাবনা তুলে ধরে জিতে নিন পুরুষ্কার এবং ছড়িয়ে দিন সামাজিক সচেতনতা।

কন্টেস্ট এর বিষয়াবলি :

দেশের বর্তমান প্রেক্ষাপট, ক্রমবর্ধমান অপরাধ প্রবণতা, মব জাস্টিস, পাবলিক হ্যারাসমেন্ট, নারীদের নিরাপত্তাহীনতা, উগ্রবাদী আচরণ, বিপর্যস্ত আইন শৃঙ্খলা পরিস্থিতি ইত্যাদি।

কারা অংশগ্রহণ করতে পারবেন:
নোয়াখালী বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সকল শিক্ষার্থী।

অংশগ্রহণ করার নিয়ম:

১. উপরে উল্লেখিত বিষয়াবলির উপর আপনার করা একটি চিত্রকর্ম আমাদের ফেসবুক গ্রূপে পোস্ট করতে হবে। হাতে আঁকা চিত্রকর্ম ও ডিজিটাল আর্ট দুই ধরনের আর্ট ই গ্রহণ করা হবে।

২. ক্যাপশনে হ্যাশট্যাগ ব্যবহার করতে হবে।

পোস্ট এংগেজমেন্ট এবং তিনজন বিচারকের মতামতের উপর ভিত্তি করে তিনজন প্রতিযোগীকে কে বিজয়ী ঘোষণা করা হবে। বিজয়ীদের জন্য থাকছে আকর্ষণীয় পুরস্কার।
