World Environment Day 2026: The Time for Climate Action is Now!

Today, on June 5, 2026, the world unites for World Environment Day, and the call to action has never been more urgent. This year, under the global campaign theme , we are reminded that the window for meaningful change is open, but we must act immediately.

Led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), with international celebrations hosted in Azerbaijan, this year’s focus shifts our attention toward the tangible, real-world solutions required to tackle our most pressing environmental challenges.

As members of the Chittagong University Nature Club (CUNC), we believe that local action is the heartbeat of global change. Whether it is protecting our marine ecosystems or advocating for sustainable practices on campus, every effort counts toward a resilient future. Let us turn our passion into practice and prioritize the health of our planet today and every day.

Join us in the movement—because the time for climate action is

Eid-ul-Adha Mubarak! 🌙

As we embrace the spirit of sacrifice and devotion this Eid-ul-Adha, let us also commit to our responsibility toward the environment.

Please ensure that waste from the Qurbani is disposed of in designated areas rather than leaving it in open spaces, as maintaining cleanliness in our surroundings and on our beloved campus is our collective duty.

Let’s keep our environment clean, green, and healthy while we celebrate, and we wish you all a blessed and eco-friendly Eid! 🌿💚

The Chittagong University Nature Club (CUNC) expresses profound grief at the passing of Begum Khaleda Zia, the first female Prime Minister of Bangladesh and a beacon of democracy.

We particularly honor her historic legacy as an environmental visionary. In 2002, she became the first head of government to ban the use of polythene bags, a landmark decision that addressed severe environmental impacts and set a global precedent for combating plastic pollution.

Her leadership in protecting our nature remains a guiding light for us. We offer our heartfelt condolences and pray for her eternal peace.
