Another physician from our SOS Hermann Gmeiner College Bogra Alumni Association family, is going to join Bangladesh Civil Service as an Assistant Surgeon at the Department of Health Services of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

SOS Children's Villages Bangladesh কে একটি জনকল্যাণ মূলক প্রতিষ্ঠান হিসেবে গণ্য করিয়া উক্ত প্রতিষ্ঠানের অনুকূলে কোন করদাতার প্রদত্ত দান বা অনুদানকে জাতীয় রাজস্ব বোর্ড উক্ত করদাতার প্রদেয় আয়কর হইতে রেয়াত প্রদান করিল।

৭ই ফেব্রুয়ারি, ৭১ তম জন্ম দিবসে প্রয়াত বরেণ্য স্থপতি রাজিউল আহসানের স্মরণে Archiconnect এর স্থাপত্যশিল্প কার্যক্রম প্রচার করছে তাঁরই অনবদ্য সৃষ্টি, বগুড়ার "এসওএস চিলড্রেনস ভিলেজ ও এসওএস হারম্যান মেইনার কলেজ"এর ডিজাইন নিয়ে নির্মিত তথ্যচিত্রটি।

আপনারা ইতিমধ্যে অবগত আছেন, আন্তর্জাতিক এস ও এস চিল্ড্রেনস ভিলেজের সাবেক প্রেসিডেন্ট আমাদের প্রিয় আংকেল হেলমুট কুটিন গত ২৩ এপ্রিল ২০২৪ তারিখ পরলোকগমন করেন। আমাদের প্রিয় আংকেলের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদনের জন্য টুগেদার উই ক্যান, কেয়ার লিভারস নেটওয়ার্ক বাংলাদেশ (এস ও এস চিল্ড্রেনস ভিলেজের সাবেক ছেলেমেয়েদের সংগঠন) এর পক্ষ থেকে এক সার্বজনীন স্মরণসভার আয়োজন করা হয়েছে। উক্ত স্মরণ সভায় প্রয়াত হেলমুট কুটিন আংকেলের স্মৃতির প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন, বাংলাদেশ ও বিশ্বের অসহায় শিশুদের স্বপ্ন পূরণে তাঁর অসামান্য অবদান এবং আমাদের সকলের সাথে স্মৃতিচারণের মধ্যে দিয়ে আমরা কুটিন আংকেলকে স্মরণ করব।

এই মহতি স্মরণ সভায় আমরা আপনাদের সকলকে আমন্ত্রণ জানাই।

Rest in peace, Grandpa!

Helmut Kutin, honorary President of SOS Children's Villages Born in 1941, in Bolzano, South Tyrol. Helmut Kutin found a new home in the very first SOS Children's Village in Imst, Austria, after tragedy struck his family. He worked in tourism for a while before building up and running the first Vietnamese SOS Children's Village, then the biggest in the world, in what is known today as Ho Chi Minh City in 1967. After realizing further facilities Helmut Kutin had to leave the country in 1976 for political reasons. As of 1971, he represented SOS Children's Villages in Asia, where a larger number of SOS Children's Village facilities were built over the following years. Helmut Kutin succeeded Hermann Gmeiner as President of SOS Children's Villages, a position he held for 27 years until his resignation in 2012.

Following the ongoing demoralising situations, we have arranged a live video for our fellow alumnus of SOS Hermann Gmeiner College Bogura at 10:30pm tonight. During the live cast we shall address the common queries from our fellow alumnus and the rumours that a couple of our fellows are spreading around our community.

Here is our response to that very common query about the Alumni Iftar 2024. Please be informed that if required, a further question-answer session through a live podcast shall be arranged later today.
