Sports Week | Dhaka | 11 April 2026

From the heart of Dhaka, movement became a message. On 11 April 2026, communities came alive with energy, as young people and volunteers stepped, jumped, and ran for a purpose beyond sport.

Every game sparked connection. Every cheer fueled confidence. Together, they turned simple moments into powerful actions. Championing inclusion, resilience, and opportunity for all.

Because in Dhaka, when we move together, we create more than impactβ€”we create momentum.

Sports Week | VSO Bangladesh Community Action – Mymensingh

As part of the global Sports Week, VSO Bangladesh mobilized communities across multiple districts in Mymensingh Division, turning local spaces into hubs of energy, inclusion, and collective action.

VSO volunteers and students joined the movement, engaging in interactive and culturally rooted activities such as skipping rope and race competitions. Beyond the games, the events served as a platform to raise awareness, strengthen community bonds, and inspire active citizenship.

Through every step, jump, and cheer, participants became part of a larger purpose supporting young people, women, and marginalized groups to access opportunities, build resilience, and lead change within their communities.

Each action contributes to a ripple effect. By coming together, participants are not only celebrating sports but also helping unlock pathways for climate-resilient livelihoods, entrepreneurship, and inclusive development.

Dreaming in Green: Shaping the Future at Khulna University School 🎨🌿

What does the future look like through the eyes of our youth? Today, April 12, 2026, we hosted the "My Dream Green" Art Competition in Khulna.

We asked students to look ahead and draw the world they want to inherit. From vibrant rural landscapes to symbolic pleas for a "Green Earth," their artwork serves as both a beautiful vision and a powerful reminder of why we must protect our environment today.

When children draw their future, they aren't just creating art, they are setting a standard for the world they expect us to build together.

In Bangladesh, we welcomed young people from across all 64 districts to take part in some agroecology and climate change training. πŸ™Œ

Participants joined VSO on a trip to Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, gaining hands-on exposure to sustainable agricultural practices that can inspire change in their communities.

During the sessions, young people learned more about:

1. Real-life applications of sustainable agricultural techniques
2. Vermicompost production for organic farming and soil health
3. Spirulina production for producing eco-friendly food
4. Agricultural practices for combating climate challenges

Designed to inspire and equip young people in Bangladesh, the training will see advocacy for sustainable agroecological practices that can lead to transformative actions in their communities.
