Brilliant minds, applications are open for the JAAGO Women Scholarship Program, supported by U-GO, have you applied yet?

As a scholar, you’ll receive:
• Up to 4 years of scholarship support
• Monthly stipends to support living and academic expenses
• Coverage of tuition, exam fees, and study materials
• Leadership training, career workshops, and networking opportunities

Who can apply?
• Enrolled in or admitted to a public university in Bangladesh
• Strong academic results in SSC & HSC (or equivalent)
• Minimum CGPA of 3.00 (out of 4.00)
• Facing financial challenges or from a disadvantaged background
• Extra consideration for leadership, volunteering, or community involvement

জেন্ডার, পরিচয় বা সামাজিক অবস্থানকে কেন্দ্র করে কোনো ব্যক্তির বিরুদ্ধে অবমাননাকর ও বৈষম্যমূলক ভাষা ব্যবহার করাকে ঘৃণামূলক বক্তব্য বা হেট স্পিচ বলে।

"নারীরা রাজনীতির জন্য উপযুক্ত নয়, তার জায়গা সংসারে", নারী প্রার্থীদের বিরুদ্ধে এমন বক্তব্য শুধু মন্তব্য নয়, বরং নারীদের বিরুদ্ধে হেট স্পিচ, যা নারীর নেতৃত্বকে ছোট করে, বৈষম্যকে স্বাভাবিক করে এবং মানুষের মতামতকে নেতিবাচকভাবে প্রভাবিত করে।

বিশেষ করে নারী প্রার্থীদের নিয়ে যখন বলা হয়, "নারীর কাজ রাজনীতি নয়”, তখন শুধু একজন নারীকে নয়, বরং গণতন্ত্রে নারীর "সমান অংশগ্রহণের অধিকারকেই" প্রশ্নবিদ্ধ করা হয়।

আসুন, মতের পার্থক্যকে সম্মান করি, ঘৃণা ও বৈষম্যের ভাষাকে না বলি। কারণ নারীর কণ্ঠ থামিয়ে নয়, নারীর কণ্ঠকে জায়গা দিয়েই গণতন্ত্র আরও শক্তিশালী হয়।

এই উদ্যোগটি UN Electoral Assistance Programme (DRIP/BALLOT)-এর সহযোগিতায় পরিচালিত এবং UN Women Bangladesh-এর কারিগরি সহায়তায় JAAGO Foundation Trust ও WADA BD কর্তৃক বাস্তবায়িত একটি সচেতনতামূলক কার্যক্রম।

ভিন্ন প্রেক্ষাপট, ভিন্ন বাস্তবতা, ভিন্ন চ্যালেঞ্জ—তবুও স্বপ্নটা এক।

দেশের নানা প্রান্তের যুবরা নিজেদের জায়গা থেকে এগিয়ে আসছে, কথা বলছে, দক্ষতা গড়ছে, পরিবেশ রক্ষা করছে, অন্যায়ের প্রতিবাদ করছে এবং সবচেয়ে বড় কথা, এমন একটি বাংলাদেশের স্বপ্ন দেখছে, যেখানে পরিচয় বা অবস্থান নয়, সবার জন্য সমান সুযোগ ও অধিকারই হবে পথচলার ভিত্তি।

কারও হাতে ক্যামেরা, কারও হাতে ল্যাপটপ, কেউ মাটিতে বীজ বুনছে, কেউ নিজের অধিকার নিয়ে কথা বলছে। তাদের কাজের ধরন আলাদা, কিন্তু পরিবর্তনের স্বপ্ন এক।

আন্তর্জাতিক যুব দিবসে শ্রদ্ধা ও সাধুবাদ সেই যুবদের প্রতি, যারা পরিবর্তনের জন্য ভবিষ্যতের অপেক্ষায় নেই। নিজের জায়গা থেকেই আজ তারা প্রশ্ন তুলছে, উদ্যোগ নিচ্ছে এবং আরও সমতাপূর্ণ ও অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক বাংলাদেশের পথ তৈরি করছে।

As part of the Shomotay Tarunno–Youth for Equality Project, youth representatives from Chattogram Division participated in a Youth Capacity Building Session on Utilising the Youth-Led Media Scorecard, where they strengthened their knowledge and practical skills to assess media content through a standardised, evidence-based framework.

From analysing news reports and television content to reviewing advertisements and digital platforms, participants learned how media influences public attitudes and how systematic data collection can support advocacy for more balanced and responsible representation. Equipped with these skills, they are ready to contribute meaningful evidence that can inspire positive change in media narratives and social perceptions.

“Shomotay Tarunno–Youth for Equality” is a four-year initiative funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bangladesh and implemented by Plan International Bangladesh and JAAGO Foundation Trust.

This International Drowning Prevention Day, the Sea Shore Girls Project united children, families, community members, and local partners to spread one powerful message—drowning is preventable when communities act together.

Through interactive awareness sessions on water safety and a creative art competition, children learned essential life-saving knowledge while becoming young ambassadors for drowning prevention in their own communities.

By strengthening awareness today, we are helping create a safer tomorrow where every child can enjoy water with confidence and protection.

The Shopner Sharothi–Seashore Girls Project is implemented by JAAGO Foundation Trust and supported by UNICEF Bangladesh.

প্রযুক্তি-কেন্দ্রিক জেন্ডারভিত্তিক সহিংসতা বা Technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV) হলো তথ্য ও যোগাযোগ প্রযুক্তি (ICT) বা অন্যান্য ডিজিটাল মাধ্যম ব্যবহার করে কারও প্রতি যে কোনো ধরনের সহিংসতা বা হয়রানি, যা তার শারীরিক, মানসিক, যৌন, সামাজিক, রাজনৈতিক বা অর্থনৈতিক ক্ষতি করে এবং তার অধিকার ও স্বাধীনতা চর্চায় বাধা সৃষ্টি করে। এটি জেন্ডারভিত্তিক বৈষম্য ও অসমতার একটি প্রকাশ।

অনলাইন হয়রানি, অ্যাকাউন্ট হ্যাকিং, ঘৃণামূলক বক্তব্য, এসবই TFGBV-এর বাস্তব রূপ। বিশেষ করে রাজনৈতিক অঙ্গনে নারীদের পিছিয়ে দিতে এই মাধ্যমগুলোকে ব্যবহার করা হয়।

কিন্তু থেমে যাওয়াই সমাধান নয়—গণসচেতনতা, প্রতিবাদ এবং সম্মিলিত কণ্ঠই পারে এই সহিংসতার বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিরোধ গড়ে তুলতে।

বাংলাদেশের ১১টি জেলায় আকস্মিক বন্যা, জলাবদ্ধতা ও ভূমিধসের ভয়াবহ প্রভাবে প্রায় ১৯ লাখ ৫০ হাজার মানুষ ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছেন। ডুবে গেছে ঘর, ভেঙে গিয়েছে আশ্রয়ের ঠিকানা, নেই পর্যাপ্ত বিশুদ্ধ পানি ও শুকনো খাবার।

এই কঠিন সময়ে মানুষের পাশে দাঁড়াতে অব্যাহত রয়েছে JAAGO Foundation-এর যুব সংগঠন Volunteer for Bangladesh (VBD)-এর সাহসী তরুণ স্বেচ্ছাসেবীদের প্রচেষ্টা। তারা বন্যার পানিতে আটকে পড়া পরিবারগুলোকে উদ্ধার করছেন, জরুরি আশ্রয়কেন্দ্র পরিচালনায় সহায়তা করছেন, নিরাপত্তা বিষয়ে সচেতনতা তৈরি করছেন এবং প্রয়োজনীয় ত্রাণসামগ্রী পৌঁছে দিচ্ছেন।
