Innovative financing solutions are becoming an increasingly important part of the Caribbean’s development toolkit.

At a high-level seminar hosted by the Caribbean Development Bank during its 56th Annual Meeting, leaders and development partners examined how debt-for-resilience swaps and other innovative financing mechanisms can help countries reduce debt burdens while investing in resilience and sustainable development.

The message was clear: stronger partnerships and coordinated action are essential to unlocking the financing needed for a more resilient Caribbean.

🌎We’re proud to launch the Caribbean Regional Electricity Grid Interconnection and Renewable Energy Scaling Technical Assistance (TA) Project - also known as CREGI-RES!

⚡A new initiative that will assess how renewable energy resources, electricity demand, regional cooperation, and investment pathways can be brought together into a viable regional roadmap.

CREGI-RES will chart opportunities to:
✅ Lower electricity costs
✅ Reduce dependence on imported fuel
✅ Strengthen climate resilience
✅ Build a cleaner, more inclusive energy workforce

The Caribbean Development Bank's Basic Needs Trust Fund and partners CDEMA - Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency and High Commission of Canada in Jamaica are launching a new FREE online course on Grant Proposal Writing in the Caribbean Context.

Designed for civil society organisations, community groups and government practitioners, the course walks participants through the grant life cycle, helping them move from an idea to a funder-ready proposal.

Participants will learn how to:
✔ Generate clear project ideas
✔ Identify suitable funding opportunities -
✔ Develop strong, structured proposals
✔ Submit proposals effectively to funders

The course features Caribbean voices and examples, with practical tools to help participants design proposals that respond to real community needs.
