The families of Angus Edghill and Richard Edghill are pleased to present the Angus Edghill Engineering Scholarship, a private endowment, administered by the Barbados Association of Professional Engineers (BAPE).

The Angus Edghill Engineering Scholarship aims to support the next generation of Barbadian innovators by providing financial assistance to high-achieving secondary school graduates, pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees in any of the engineering disciplines. Recognizing the financial hurdles many students face when embarking on their university journey, we have committed to funding four annual scholarships starting in the 2026-2027 academic year for the next decade. The goal is to develop highly trained, qualified citizens with the skills to carry Barbados forward as we navigate challenges ranging from global economic uncertainty to climate change.

💧 World Water Day 2026 - Barbados

Today, the Barbados Association of Professional Engineers (BAPE) highlights the vital role water plays in our island’s development, public health, and resilience.

As one of the most water-scarce countries in the Caribbean, Barbados relies heavily on its limited groundwater resources. Protecting our coral limestone aquifers from contamination, over-extraction, and saltwater intrusion is essential to maintaining a safe and reliable water supply; especially as climate change brings longer droughts and more intense rainfall events.

Engineers across the island continue to support sustainable water management through the design and maintenance of critical infrastructure, improved drainage systems, and innovative solutions such as desalination and water reuse.

🌊 Every drop matters. Engineering protects it.
