BARBADOS COUNCIL FOR THE DISABLED was honoured to recognise and leave the legacy of Dr. Jennifer Campbell for future generations to embody.

Dr. Campbell who for years offered her time and expertise to providing many children with disabilities an opportunity to attain a level of inclusion in society...oftentimes with very limited resources, as many of us who know of her service can attest.

Dr. Campbell...The BCD and Challenor School appreciate you.
Thank 💖 You.

From: The office of The Human Rights Commissioner Barbados, The Most Honourable Kerryann Ifill FB

The Human Rights Commission recognises that the advancement of human rights cannot be achieved by any one institution acting alone. It requires the active involvement of government, civil society, the private sector, academia, community organisations, faith-based groups, and individual citizens. We therefore view stakeholder engagement as fundamental to our work and to the creation of the Barbados we all wish to see.

Our vision is of a society where rights and respect coexist; where equality, dignity, and justice are not merely aspirations but lived realities; and where the protection of human rights is understood as a shared responsibility and a common objective. Achieving this vision will require open dialogue, mutual understanding, and strong partnerships across all sectors of society.

As the Commission begins its work, we look forward to engaging closely with your organisation and learning from your experiences, perspectives, and expertise. We are committed to maintaining constructive and ongoing dialogue as we work together to strengthen the human rights framework in Barbados and ensure that it reflects the needs and aspirations of all people.
As an initial step in this engagement, we warmly invite you and the members of your organisation to participate in the Human Rights Commission's National Survey on Human Rights, which will be open from 5 to 20 June 2026.
The survey forms a critical part of the Commission's efforts to develop Barbados' National Human Rights Policy and to inform related legislative reforms. Your perspectives and experiences will help shape a framework that reflects the realities, aspirations, and priorities of people across Barbados.
We encourage you to complete the survey and to share it widely throughout your networks so that the broadest possible range of voices can contribute to this important national conversation on human rights.
Should you or any members of your organisation require assistance in completing the survey, trained enumerators are available to provide support. Please do not hesitate to contact us, and we will be delighted to make the necessary arrangements.

We thank you for your interest and support and look forward to working with you in pursuit of a more inclusive, equitable, and rights-respecting Barbados.

Barbados signed on to the CRPD on July 19th 2007 and ratified February 27th 2013.
