On Saturday September 26, Cancer Support Services held its Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) Screening in recognition of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

Thanks to our friends at ANSA Merchant Bank (Barbados) Ltd. and ANSA McAL (Barbados) Ltd. we were able to offer the screening at $30.00 in celebration of Cancer Support Services 30th Anniversary.

Thanks to those 221 men who took the crucial step in taking care of themselves!

Special thanks as well to our amazing PSA Screening Team, we started early and stayed late to ensure each man received their screening.

We'll be back again in November so stay tuned for the date!

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) advises that services at the Clara Brathwaite Centre for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine will be temporarily relocated from Monday, September 21, 2026, to facilitate a comprehensive deep cleaning of the department.

During this period, the QEH Chapel will serve as the main waiting area for patients attending routine clinics, radiation oncology and chemotherapy services.

QEH security personnel will guide patients to the appropriate temporary service areas.

The oncology team is contacting patients to confirm or, where necessary, reschedule appointments.

Jan Lynton was the founder of Cancer Support Services, and a beacon of hope for all cancer survivors and their families. Though she has sadly left us, her good work must be carried on. This year, we honour her legacy in tribute at Love Divine IV.

We hear about it alot but what is the prostate and where is it located?

The prostate is a small, wallnut-sized gland that sits just below the bladder in men.

The main job of the prostate is to make fluid which nourishes and protects sperms.

It also acts as a valve keeping urine from mixing with seven during sexual activity.
