Rotary Club of Barbados West was chartered in 1975 and is one of three Rotary Clubs in Barbados. Our club has 42 members and on March 25, 2014 we inducted our first female members. Our club is part of Rotary International, comprised of 1.2 million neighbours, friends, and community leaders who come together to create positive, lasting change in our communities and around the world. Our differing o
ccupations, cultures, and countries give us a unique perspective. Our shared passion for service helps us accomplish the remarkable. Rotary members unite at home and across the globe to put our experience and knowledge to work tackling our most pressing challenges. We focus our efforts in six areas: promoting peace, preventing diseases, providing access to clean water and sanitation, enhancing maternal and child health, improving basic education and literacy, and helping communities develop. We are especially dedicated to ending polio in our lifetimes. Rotary members have persevered in this fight since 1979 and have now helped eradicate polio in all but three countries worldwide.
