🌱 Calling young agro enthusiasts (18–35)! Join us for our free 2‑Day Biosecurity Workshop and learn how to protect your farm or garden from pests, diseases, and biosecurity breaches. Create your own biosecurity manual and learn to identify and control infections!

Future Farmers Think Tank (FFTT) is looking for a passionate and dedicated Assistant Club Coordinator (ages 18–35) to help us empower the next generation of agricultural innovators.

As part of our agri-youth nonprofit, you’ll support and expand agricultural clubs in schools, foster leadership, and inspire youth to see farming and sustainability as a future-ready career path.

What You’ll Do:
✅ Establish and manage youth agricultural clubs with engaging, hands-on activities.
✅ Develop curricula and coordinate meetings, events, and field-based learning.
✅ Recruit and mentor club members, guiding them in agricultural skills & leadership.
✅ Collaborate with FFTT members and volunteers to enhance programs.
✅ Maintain records, membership logs, and progress reports.
✅ Promote participation through outreach and community engagement.
✅ Assist in securing resources and funding for club initiatives.

Hey Future Farmers 🌱📚
Day 1 at the Youth Village, Carifesta 15 held at the Barbados Community College (BCC) was nothing short of amazing! We laughed, danced, sang, and celebrated both what makes us unique and what unites us as one Caribbean family. ✨

It was our privilege to showcase our children’s book—a vibrant story that uses art and storytelling to explore the culture of farming in Barbados and across the region. Designed for kids ages 4–11, it highlights the importance of farming, agriculture, and our wider food system. 🍲🌾

The Food Network Platform is a digital marketplace where:

🌱📚 Hey Future Farmers!

In June, The Great Okra Challenge children’s book hit the road! 🚐✨ We kicked off readings at Lawrence T. Gay, then made our way to St. Luke’s Academy, Blackman & Gollop with the .george , and wrapped up at All Saints Primary in St. Peter.

We were blown away by the energy of the kids — curious, excited, and brave enough to read aloud in front of their peers. Each visit reminded us just how smart and aware these young minds are, especially when it comes to agriculture and nature. Big shoutout to the amazing teachers who go the extra mile every day — your impact shows. 🌿

Thank you again to First Citizens Barbados for bringing our dream to life !!!!!!

🎯 Our goal: Donate 300 books island-wide (we’ve done 60 so far!) and visit every primary school in Barbados.

Meet the Author:

Susan Forde, a Barbadian primary school teacher specializing in composition and the arts, is also a dedicated gardener and registered farmer. Her creative pursuits extend to published poetry, contributions to various magazines, and authorship of multiple blogs. *The Great Okra Challenge* marks her debut into children's literature, seamlessly blending her enthusiasm for children, writing, art, and agriculture.
Through this book and its engaging characters, Forde aims to cultivate children's curiosity about the natural world and agriculture, inspiring the next generation of farmers.
