Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We give thanks for 125 years of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Barbados. For generations, Vincentians have faithfully served Christ through their care for the poor, the sick, and the lonely.Ä·
This anniversary stands as a testament to God’s enduring faithfulness. He has sustained our Society through every challenge, and the prayers, dedication, and generosity of many have strengthened our mission throughout the years.
True charity is expressed in our ability to recognise Christ in others and to serve with humility, compassion, and love.
As we look to the future, let us reflect on the following:
Are we responding to the needs of the poor with compassion?
Are we welcoming and encouraging new Vincentians?
Are we deepening our faith and commitment to service?
Are we prepared to respond to emerging needs in Barbados?
Our future will depend not only on resources, but also on faith, perseverance, and a renewed sense of mission. We are called not merely to commemorate 125 years of service, but to build faithfully upon that legacy.
With gratitude, we remember all who have served before us. May their witness continue to inspire us as we move forward with renewed dedication.
May Mother Mary and St. Vincent de Paul guide us in serving Christ in the poor with joy, hope, and love.
Let us commit ourselves to making the next 125 years a living witness of faith in action.
