🌱 Reimagining VET Curricula for the Future of Agriculture

How can vocational education better prepare learners for the challenges of digitalisation, sustainability, and innovation in agriculture?

This question was at the centre of the latest FARMER training sessions in Trebinje, led by professor Sandra Bjelan from the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo. Participants explored modern approaches to curriculum development, focusing on competence-based education, learning outcomes, learner-centred teaching, inclusive learning environments, and innovative pedagogical and didactic approaches.

The sessions were closely linked to presentations delivered by the participating schools:
🔹 JU MSŠ "Enver Pozderović"
🔹 Centar srednjih škola Trebinje
🔹 JU Srednja mješovita škola Golubovci

Building on the stakeholder consultations conducted within the FARMER project, the schools presented their current programmes, key challenges, and development priorities. Together, participants reflected on how labour market needs and stakeholder feedback can be transformed into meaningful learning outcomes, teaching activities, and curriculum modules that support both student success and sector development.

By bringing together pedagogical expertise and practical experiences from schools, the sessions highlighted that curriculum innovation is not only about what students learn, but also how they learn.

📍 CREDI at the Cedefop and Eurostat Research Conference on Skills Intelligence

Our Director of Research, Nermin Oruč, participated in the international research conference Harnessing Web Data for Next-Generation Skills Intelligence, jointly organised by Cedefop and Eurostat and held on 28–29 May 2026 in Thessaloniki, Greece. 🇬🇷

🎤 As part of Session 4a, Nermin presented the paper Spatial Matching of Online Job Vacancies and Training Provision Data, co-authored with Aleksandar Kostadinov. The research explores how online job vacancy data can be combined with information on education and training provision to identify geographical mismatches between labour market demand and available learning opportunities.

💡 The conference brought together researchers, policymakers, data scientists, and labour market experts from across Europe to discuss how web data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning can contribute to better skills intelligence and evidence-based policymaking.

🌍 Through its participation in international research networks and conferences, CREDI continues to contribute to advancing labour market research and supporting evidence-based policy development.

🤝 CREDI and the Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Join Forces to Enhance Obuke.ba

On 12 June 2026, CREDI and the Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at further developing the Obuke.ba web portal.
The Memorandum was signed by Ivan Barbalić, Director of the Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Amina Tabaković Oruč, Executive Director of CREDI.

💡 Through this partnership, the two institutions will work together to modernise and expand the Obuke.ba platform, improving access to information on non-formal training opportunities and adult education programmes across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

📚 The upgraded portal will provide jobseekers, training providers, employers, and public employment services with easier access to comprehensive and up-to-date information on available training opportunities, supporting lifelong learning and skills development.

🚀 The new version of Obuke.ba is expected to be launched in autumn 2026, offering a more user-friendly and effective platform for navigating education and training opportunities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Through this cooperation, CREDI continues to support evidence-based approaches to skills development, adult learning, and labour market inclusion.

🌱 Shaping the Future of Agri-Food VET Through Innovation and Skills Intelligence

Today, representatives of vocational education and training (VET) schools from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro came together in Trebinje for the first training workshop within the Erasmus+ FARMER – Future Agri-Tech Reskilling and Modern Education Reimagining project.

The workshop focused on how VET institutions can better respond to the rapidly changing needs of the agri-food sector through innovation, skills intelligence, graduate tracking, and stronger cooperation with employers.

A key contribution came from ou trainer Ivan Diego Rodriguez, who delivered sessions on VET innovation, graduate tracking within the EQAVET framework, and employer engagement in curriculum design. Through interactive discussions and real-life case studies, participants reflected on how labour market intelligence and stakeholder cooperation can support more relevant and future-oriented training programmes.

📅 Tomorrow, the programme continues with sessions on emerging skills in agriculture and smart farming followed by a stakeholder dialogue workshop and a co-creation lab focused on defining priority skills and curriculum responses for the future of the agri-food sector.

✅ razvoj obnovljivih izvora energije,
