European Youth Parliament (EYP BiH) is the largest European platforms for political debate, intercultural encounters, European civic education and the exchange of ideas among young people in Europe. EYP network is present in 40 European countries, where thousands of young people are active as volunteers. European Youth Parliament in Bosnia and Herzegovina (EYP BiH) is an organisation that aims to improve the social status of young people, encouraging the development of their awareness of issues of European and BiH importance, promoting participation in decision-making, fostering intercultural dialogue and diversity of ideas. EYP also aims to support creative and volunteer work, and the organization of events where young people are free and encouraged to express their opinion. EYP in BiH was established in November 2013 in Sarajevo by a group of young and motivated people . Our mission was and still is to increase the awareness of the youth on the Bosnian and European issues and affect their personal and professional development. Our vision is that every young person in BiH actively participates in social life and contributes to flourishing of civil society using its sophisticated resources. EYP BiH is a registered NGO at the national Ministry of Justice and has a registered bank account. It is run by a four-member national board which oversees operations currently in 6 cities: Sarajevo, Mostar, Zenica, Banja Luka, Bihać and Tuzla. EYP in BiH acquired the candidate status to become part of the EYP European network on July 13th 2014. A full-fledged membership was granted on October 24th 2015, after EYP BiH organized the first National Session, financially supported by the UNDP, UNDPA and the European Union in the beginning of October 2015. EYP BiH uses interactive educational methods based on simulation of European parliamentary sessions and team building activities, targeting high school students. The organisation of EYP activities is structured as follows: first, a number of local/regional sessions is organized to introduce students with EYP concept and functioning. During these forums, topics of BiH relevance are discussed. Then, the National Session takes place, including participants from all over BiH, the region and other European countries.
