The Sarajevo Security Conference (SSC), scheduled for September 4–6, 2026, invites experts, policymakers, and academics to submit panel proposals. Recognized as one of the most prestigious security events in Southeast and East Europe, the SSC serves as a premier platform for high-level strategic dialogue, bringing together senior leadership from NATO, the EU, and global institutions.
As a bridge between the Western Balkans and the broader transatlantic community, the SSC provides a unique stage for addressing the most pressing security challenges facing the global landscape.
Priority Themes
We are particularly interested in proposals that explore the following areas:
Arctic Security: Navigating the geopolitical shifts in the High North.
Transatlantic Relations: Strengthening alliances in a changing world order.
Europe’s Security Architecture: Redefining defense and stability across the continent.
The Middle East: Examining regional dynamics and their global security implications.
Türkiye: Analyzing its strategic role as a regional and global power.
Black Sea Security: Addressing maritime challenges and regional stability.
Submission Guidelines
To propose a panel, please submit your proposal via email at [email protected]
Your proposal must include a 250-word abstractstructured as follows:
Aim: The primary objective or research question of the panel.
Background: The context and relevance to current security trends.
Methods: The analytical framework or approach used.
Findings: The core arguments or preliminary results.
Conclusion/Recommendations: Policy implications or strategic takeaways.
Panel Format & Composition
Composition: 1 Moderator + 3 to 4 Participants.
Duration: 75 minutes total (60 minutes for the moderated discussion + 15 minutes for Q&A).
Diversity: Panels must aim for an international composition.
Logistics & Participation
No Participation Fee: There is no fee to submit a proposal or participate in the conference.
Travel & Accommodation: Partner organizations are expected to cover the travel and accommodation costs for their participants for the duration of the conference (September 4–6).
Official Venue: The conference hotel is the Mövenpick Sarajevo.
Important Dates
Submission Deadline: 7 May 2026
Review Process: Proposals will be evaluated by the Conference Organizing Committee.
Notification of Acceptance: 10 June 2026 (via the email provided in the form).
