Previously we were active in 2016-17 in Subotica, Serbia, distributing fresh ingredients to cook as well as clothes and other aid. Our aim is to fill in the gaps in support for refugees and migrants where state institutions and NGOs are slow to respond. Previously, this has involved supplementing the inadequate food provided in refugee camps around the Serbian-Hungarian border with fresh and nutri
tious ingredients from local farmers and suppliers. With agency and dignity, people could prepare meals they wanted for themselves and their families. In Sarajevo, we aim to support the dispersed and largely invisible population of homeless migrants across the city, with blankets, sleeping bags, warm clothing, and referrals to medical and other services including our friends at Compass 42 Community Centre. Throughout everything we do, we strive to be a warm and welcoming presence on the long road to a safer place.
