🌍 2026 – International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists
Grasslands and extensive grazing are vital for biodiversity, food production, and climate resilience. This year, our partners from BIOM highlighting transhumance – a nearly forgotten tradition of seasonal livestock movement, recognized as cultural heritage in Croatia in 2025.
🎙 Through conversations with ethnologist Grga Frangeš and conservation expert Ivan Budinski, they explore its history, impact on biodiversity, and future potential.

💡 With growing interest in local, traditional, and ethical food, transhumance may yet have a future.
