Company Overview
SYSLAB Baku Center, established within the frames of the Promoting Employment and Innovation in Azerbaijan project implemented by the UNDP office in Baku with the support of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affaires and the Ministry of Labour aim to foster employment opportunities of the 120 unemployed persons annually through job seeking trainings, active job seeking, setting up relevant departments, in one word creating job environment and providing network of participants with businesses an other potential employers. On average 80% of the participants of the project succeed to secure a job as a result of the 4-6 months training period. One period involves 40 participants seleceted in two rounds, of which the first is CV/resume review, the second interview to have clear opinion of the applicants educational background and work experience along with motivation to better their current situation and take part in the project. The SYSLAB concept must never be termed a "course". It is important to the end result that the participants themselves consider that they are coming to work and not going on a course. A working environment is to be created which provides recent graduates in particular with relevant work experience where the same demands are made at SYSLAB as in any other company. Right from day 1 the participants must be required to take part in the day-to-day running of the company and, not least, in further developing SYSLAB. As well as SYSLAB being seen as a workplace internally by the participants, it is important that SYSLAB is also seen as a professional company externally by the business community. Success in this respect will be demonstrated by the number of company visits, the number of development projects from business and industry and the vacant posts which the companies wish to fill with SYSLAB participants.
