On May 24, 2025, the Russia and Caspian Regional Qualifier of the SPE PetroBowl Championship was successfully organized by the SPE Azerbaijan Section.
This prestigious academic competition brought together seven distinguished university teams from across the Russia and Caspian region: APEC (Kazakhstan), ASOIU (Azerbaijan) BHOS (Azerbaijan), KBTU (Kazakhstan), Satbayev University (Kazakhstan), TIU (Russian Federation), and the University of Tyumen (Russian Federation). All teams demonstrated exceptional technical knowledge, teamwork, and a strong commitment to the oil and gas industry.
Following a highly competitive event, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University and Kazakh-British Technical University earned the opportunity to represent the Russia and Caspian Region at the international stage of the PetroBowl Championship.

🥇 1st Place – Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (Azerbaijan)
🥈 2nd Place – Kazakh-British Technical University (Kazakhstan)
🥉 3rd Place – Tyumen Industrial University (Russian Federation)

About PetroBowl:
The PetroBowl competition pitches SPE Student Chapter teams against each other in a series of games answering technical and nontechnical industry-related questions. Teams from all over the world are selected through Regional Qualifiers to participate in the Championship games. The winners of the Regional Qualifiers are granted admission to the SPE Annual Technical Conference & Exhibition (ATCE), which this year will be held at Huston, TX, USA where they could enter one of the prestigious conferences along with a winning Prize.
