Media Literacy in the Age of AI - Belfast study visit > Take a look inside!

As part of the Youth Connect programme, young participants from across Europe came together at Queen’s University Belfast to collaborate, exchange ideas and bring their projects to life.

During the visit, they:
⬩ connected with peers from different countries
⬩ worked with experts in media, AI and digital innovation
⬩ explored how technology shapes the way we create and consume information
⬩ built on ideas developed during the national trainings

This study visit offered a space for collaboration, creativity and learning — supporting young people to take their work on media literacy to the next level.

📚 On 9 June, we were delighted to conduct the closing and graduation ceremony of the English Language for Young Learners Programme, hosted by the European Azerbaijan School (EAS).

Throughout the 2025–2026 academic year, around 200 young learners participated in the programme, benefiting from high-quality English language instruction designed to support their academic and personal development.

The event brought together our valued partners and supporters. Speeches were delivered by:🔹 Mr Francesco Banchini, CEO and Director of the European Azerbaijan School🔹 Ms Nargiz Hajiyeva MBE, Country Director, British Council Azerbaijan🔹 Mr Khalid Rajabov, Head of Social Investment Group for bp Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye

The programme was delivered by British Council Azerbaijan with the support of bp and its co-venturers, in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Education, the “Red Hearts” Foundation, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, and other stakeholders.

Certificates were awarded to all participants — a proud and inspiring moment for the students and their families. 🎓

We are proud to support this meaningful initiative that empowers young people through education and language. Special thanks to EAS and Mr Banchini .francesco for their continued partnership and support in successfully delivering the programme.

How can NGOs engage young people online in ways that are safe, meaningful and participatory?

The fourth workshop in the series “From Inclusive Leadership to Active Participation” will focus on digital engagement and how organisations can communicate with young people online, build stronger communities and create safer spaces for participation.

The session will explore digital communication, community building and practical approaches to engaging young people in online environments.
