In 2024, Mexican artist Chavis Mármol stunned the global art world with a jaw-dropping installation in Mexico City. He dropped a nine-ton replica of an ancient Olmec head directly onto a Tesla Model 3, crushing the electric vehicle into a twisted heap. Far from a publicity stunt, the act was a bold and deliberate statement against modern consumerism, capitalist excess, and the unchecked rise of tech billionaires. Mármol didn’t hold back, sarcastically referring to Elon Musk as “Elon Mollusk,” transforming satire into stone and steel.

This powerful piece was part of Mármol’s “Neo-Tameme” series, a body of work that reclaims indigenous Mexican identity while challenging the cultural erasure brought by global corporate forces. The Olmec heads, massive stone sculptures from one of Mesoamerica’s earliest civilizations, served as the perfect counterweight, both literally and symbolically. By using this iconic form to destroy a symbol of modern innovation, Mármol flipped the script on what progress really means.

The installation was displayed at the Colima 71 Art Community Hotel in Mexico City, quickly becoming a viral sensation and sparking international debate. Mármol’s critique targeted not just the fetishisation of technology but also the increasing influence of companies like Tesla, particularly as Musk pushes forward with plans for a gigafactory in Nuevo León. The crushed Tesla became a visual metaphor for resistance, a refusal to let heritage be paved over by profit and machinery.

Mármol’s work reminds us that history isn’t buried in the past. It lives in protest, in art, and in the dialogue between the ancient and the modern.

The Assad regime victims: r***d in prisons. Some even in front of their children and family members.

After prisons they were 'torted' by the society too: family mens left them, felt for them, society labeled them as 'spoiled', 'wasted'.

Video is not of recent, but in deed 10 years old. It is just 13 years out of 50+ years of ruling regime.

One of most **ers, gen. , nicknamed as , was captured by after has fallen.

The victims say, there is almost not a single whom he left non-r***d.

Just 3 weeks ago this barbar was still going **ng.

That is a price these women and we all pay harsh because of silence and non-action in front of an evil.

Take action. Ever

“Bir gün babam, ‘Dünyanın her yerine gidiyorsun, babanın köyünü merak etmiyor musun’ dedi.

‘Hadi gidelim’ dedim. Vapura binip Giresun’a gittik. Giresun’dan Şebinkarahisar’a taksi tuttuk. Oradan Yaycı köyüne gittik. Babam doğduğu evi aradı, bulamadı. Kiliseyi aradı, bulamadı. Mezarlığı tarla yapmışlar.

Çocukken yüzünü yıkadığı üç gözlü bir çeşme vardı, o kalmış. Oraya götürdüler, yüzünü yıkadı.

‘Çocukken anam beni dövenin üzerine koyar, dolaştırırdı’ dedi. Hemen köylüler döven kurdu, babamı da içine koydular, döndü. Ben de fotoğraf çektim. Baktım, babam ağlıyor. Altı yaşında bıraktığı köyüne benimle beraber dönünce çocukluğu aklına gelmiş.

Sonra Sivas’a dönmek için araba tuttuk. Yolda giderken ‘Ah, unuttum’ dedi:

‘ Buranın karayemişleri meşhurdur. Anam beni İstanbul’a mektebe gönderirken yanıma torba içinde yemişler vermişti, onları yiyerek gelmiştim.

İstanbul’a döndük.”
“Babam dört ay sonra öldü. Meğer derdi, oğlunun onu köyüne götürmesiymiş.

Cenazeye gideceğimiz gün evin kapısı çaldı.
‘Kimsiniz’ dedim.
‘Dacat Güler’i arıyoruz’ dediler.
‘Dacat Güler’i kaybettik, şimdi cenazeye gidiyoruz, isterseniz siz de gelin’ dedim.
Meğer gelenler, köyde bizi gezdiren köylülermiş.

‘Siz de gelin cenazeye’ dedim. Yanlarında da bir sandık vardı. Baktım; karayemiş getirmişler. Babamın almak istediği, hasretini çektiği karayemişler... Çocukluğunda yediği, kokusunu aldığı, kendi memleketinin yemişleri...”

“Hepsini ceplerime doldurdum, ceplerim şişti. Öyle gittim cenazeye...
Tam babamı toprağa koyacaklar, ‘Açsanıza tabutu’ dedim,
‘Olmaz, dine aykırıdır’ dediler.
‘Siz açın, bir şey koyacağım’ dedim.

Açtılar. Döktüm yemişleri... Babamı çocukluğunun yemişleriyle birlikte gönderdim öteki dünyaya... Şişli mezarlığında yatıyor şimdi...”
