Fundacion Muchila Creativo

Fundacion Muchila Creativo Fundacion Muchila Creativo operates across social, cultural, educational, creative, artistic, and therapeutic fields.

FMC's vision is to develop and promote the Arts and culture within the Aruban community in the broadest sense. It is with great pleasure that Fundacion Muchila Creativo wants to motivate children, youth and adolescents to express themselves in the fields of music, dance, visual arts, drama and arts as a whole. We also want to expand their creative horizon by means of literature, photography, video

and multimedia. FMC want to reach this through courses, lectures, presentations, workshops, seminairs and expositions in Aruba and abroad. In a Muchila we carry materials for work or tools to work in the fields or to fish. FMC continuously plants and cultivates more seeds of creativity with children, the youth and adults. This harvest will surely contribute to a better Aruba.

Fundacion Muchila Creativo Celebrates 23 Years of Creative Growth in Aruba

April 9, 2026

Today marks a remarkable milestone for Fundacion Muchila Creativo: 23 years of dedication to arts, culture, and inclusive education within the Aruban community. Since its founding in 2003, the foundation has carried a clear mission: to stimulate creativity through music, visual arts, dance, theater, literature, and multimedia — accessible to people of all ages.

A Foundation Built on Three Pillars

Over the years, Muchila Creativo has grown into a dynamic organization grounded in three strong pillars: educational, socio-cultural, and therapeutic.

1. Educational Pillar

For more than two decades, the foundation has developed educational projects that connect artistic expression with learning.
In 2020, Muchila Creativo took an important step with the establishment of a VSO program (Special Secondary Education) for neurodiverse youth ages 12 to 28.
Within this program, the arts run as a continuous thread through the curriculum, allowing students to discover, develop, and showcase their talents in a safe and creative environment.

2. Socio-Cultural Pillar

Muchila Creativo remains an active force in Aruba’s cultural landscape. The foundation organizes courses, workshops, and community projects that bring people of all ages together.
Currently, the organization is working on the inspiring Let’s Act project, through which the documentary What Remains of Us is being developed — an artistic and social initiative that centers the voices of young people and highlights the power of collective creation.

3. Therapeutic Pillar

Within this pillar, Muchila Creativo uses art as a tool for well-being, emotional processing, and personal growth. The foundation develops art therapy projects that support participants in strengthening their resilience and self-expression.

A Future Filled with Creativity and community

Fundacion Muchila Creativo proudly reflects on 23 years of growth, innovation, and collaboration. At the same time, the foundation looks ahead with hope and determination — committed to continuing to develop projects that enrich, connect, and inspire the Aruban community for many years to come.

The foundation is located at Caya Betico Croes 83 in Oranjestad, in the Violet Center for the Arts — a vibrant space where creativity comes to life every day.

Celebrating Aruba Day at Violet Center – A Beautiful Day of Culture, Community & Creativity

Today, March 18th, we proudly celebrated Aruba Day at the Violet Center in the heart of Oranjestad, and what an unforgettable gathering it was. The atmosphere was filled with joy as parents, invited guests, and community members came together to honor our island’s rich culture and traditions.

Our celebration began with a delightful brunch, where visitors enjoyed delicious food while being serenaded by the talented folkloric group Stimami. Their vibrant repertoire of traditional Aruban music created the perfect backdrop, bringing warmth, nostalgia, and pride to everyone present.

Guests also had the opportunity to explore the Violet Center Giftshop, featuring a beautiful selection of Aruba souvenirs, bags, T-shirts, and handmade gifts. Each item was lovingly crafted by the neurodiverse students and teachers of Colegio Muchila Creativo, showcasing their creativity, dedication, and talent. Many visitors left with meaningful keepsakes that represent both our culture and the hard work of our students and team.

The event was a true celebration of community—filled with music, culture, connection, and smiles.

Muchila Creativo extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to making this Aruba Day celebration such a success. Your presence, support, and enthusiasm made the day truly special.

Happy Aruba Day!

Carnival Queen Celebration at Colegio Muchila Creativo

On Friday, February 6th, Colegio Muchila Creativo hosted a vibrant and joyful Carnival celebration, highlighted by the election of our 2026 Carnival Queen. Five talented candidates participated in this exciting event, each evaluated in four categories: dance, makeup, speech, and knowledge about Aruba. The scores were incredibly close, making it a challenging task for our three dedicated judges.

Every participant was honored with a special title:
• Tanique Chan – Miss Amistad
• Jolianne Croes – Miss Popular
• Tania Centeno – Miss Sonrisa
• Eliza Kelly – Miss Speech
• Johanny Ballestero Zapata – Miss Make Up

In the end, Jolianne Croes was crowned Reina of Colegio Muchila Creativo, a well deserved recognition of her grace, confidence, and Carnival spirit.

Throughout the event, our Prince Jairwin Winterdal and Pancho Dylan Osorio played an important role by stepping forward each time to reveal which candidate had earned a title. Their presence added excitement and charm to the celebration.

A special word of gratitude goes to Nancy Maduro, teacher at Colegio Muchila Creativo, who designed and created all the costumes and sashes for the event. Her creativity, dedication, and craftsmanship elevated the celebration and brought the Carnival spirit to life. The school is deeply grateful for her outstanding contribution.

It was a delightful morning filled with music, color, and community pride. Our students truly enjoyed the festivities, creating memories that will stay with them long after Carnival season ends.

Fundacion Muchila Creativo and Colegio Muchila Creativo were honored to participate in the Common Good Expo & Conference at the Renaissance Convention Center on January 29 and 30, 2026 — an inspiring gathering of 51 organizations from across Aruba, all committed to strengthening our island’s social, cultural, and educational initiatives.

This year’s theme, “The Home We Build Together,” invited us to reflect on the kind of society we want to create — one rooted in collective well being, shared responsibility, and a deep sense of belonging. It reminded us that a strong community is not something we inherit; it is something we build side by side, through collaboration, care, and intention.

The expo highlighted the power of working together for quality education, social well being, cultural exchange, and an inclusive foundation for all. When organizations support one another, share resources, and collaborate with purpose, we create sustainable progress that lifts our entire island.

Throughout the event, we connected with partners who share our values of well being, education, arts, care, and community. These conversations opened doors to new possibilities, including:

• Joint projects
• Shared resources
• Co financing opportunities
• Knowledge exchange
• Strategic partnerships rooted in shared responsibility

We were grateful for the opportunity to share our mission and vision with the public and to learn from the incredible work happening across Aruba. The Common Good Expo reaffirmed our belief that “the home we build together” becomes stronger when every organization contributes its unique strengths.

We look forward to continuing these conversations, nurturing new collaborations, and contributing to a network of people dedicated to collective well being and a brighter future for Aruba.
