Completed my first ever running event today with the Chevron City to Surf for genU 🏃

Awesome being surrounded by 1000s of fellow runners, all doing it for a good cause 🙌

I was fortunate enough to get a 10km PB as well, which was entirely unexpected as I have not run in a month… I guess all that residual training load in the buildup to June still is paying off!

And of course… seeing my family and friends there at the end was special.

It’s crazy the impact exercise can have on the mind. This year has been very impactful for our little family and it’s easy to skip those workouts and just lounge on the couch eating chocolate all night, but all day today I’ve just felt so great and blessed to be alive… gotta love that runners high.

And in all things, glory to God, who has blessed me with two legs and heartbeat 🙌

Time for some Rottnest Island exploration and fishing 🎣 will be posting a lot of content about it in the coming days and take you with me for the journey… hoping for a big fish 🐟

Hike for Change 2026 photo dump 📸

This is just some of the support that came out during the 24 hour event… and like i said, I barely did one lap without someone with me for the entire 24 hours.

Special shoutout to Ollie from Intrepid World and Ps Mark Brown, who stuck it out with me in the late night and early am hours when I was really hurting.

Special thanks to my work crew ELLA DOYLE 💐 and Luke James who came late at night and early morning to deliver me a coffee… it was heaven sent ☕️

Big thanks to Basil Zempilas and amyzempilas for taking time out of their busy schedule to come down and join me for a lap, it was fantastic 🙏

Thanks to 𝚓𝚎𝚗𝚗𝚊 , phil , Mike Clayton

Im a massive introvert and tend to be the “suffer in silence” type, however having the massive amount of people rock up and support this endeavour was so so special and absolutely needed 🙌

This won’t be the last time I do this… I expect bigger and better things in the future.

All glory to God ✝️

The 2026 Hike for Change event is officially complete. 💙🥾

After months of planning, training, and preparation, it’s time to reflect on what really happened out on the trail.

In this recap, I share:
• The highs and lows of the event.
• How my cardio held up over 24 hours.
• The nutrition mistakes and unexpected challenges I faced.
• The injuries I picked up along the way.
• How many kilometres were completed.
• How much we raised to support people overcoming addiction and life-controlling issues through Tenacious House.
• And most importantly… what’s next for Hike for Change.

Not everything went according to plan, but every challenge has become a lesson that will help shape future events and make them even better.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, encouraged me, volunteered, followed the journey, or simply shared the mission. Every bit of support has helped make a real difference.

Let me know below… would you be interested in a yearly event like this 24 hr format, that includes the local community and anyone else who wishes to join?

Together, we’re proving that every step really can create change. 💙🥾
