Awesome day out in Batchelor, NT giving out brand new clothing to the Palumpa / Nganmarriyanga community who are in temporary accommodation due to the cyclone and the flooding of their homelands. Bawaka Directors A***n Pearson, Timmy Burarrwanga and Nova Peris recently visited Parliament House where they met with Don Farrell, Minister for Trade and Tourism, to discuss the impact of recent cyclone damage on Bawaka.

During the meeting, the Directors outlined the urgent need for resilient, cyclone-rated infrastructure and long-term development plans, which Bawaka Aboriginal Corporation aims to achieve as part of its recovery and future vision. Discussions focused on rebuilding stronger, supporting sustainable tourism, and ensuring Bawaka remains a leading cultural destination in East Arnhem Land.

The Directors also met with other ministers during their visit, continuing important conversations to secure coordinated government support for Bawaka’s recovery and long-term growth.

The Nova Peris Foundation is proud to support Nathaniel Cooper as he pursues marathon running through the The Indigenous Marathon Foundation

From Minjilang (Croker Island) and studying health and fitness at Charles Darwin University, Nathaniel is disciplined, driven, and committed to giving back. He proves that no matter where you come from, you can choose to work hard, chase your goals, and become a role model for others, especially in remote communities.

Having the right equipment matters, and we hope these running shoes 👟 support Nathaniel every step of the way.

In 2021, the seed 🌱of the Nova Peris Foundation was planted.

Since then, we’ve achieved so much and today, I’m thrilled to share another project that has now become a reality 👷🏾‍♀️🔨🔧

This latest milestone is in partnership with Yirrkala School, and it’s something very close to my heart ❤️

That little seed 🌱we planted has now grown and it’s going to bloom in ways that uplift the school, the community, empowers the children, and honours our vision 🙏🏾

I’m so excited. So proud
So happy for the kids.
So happy for Merrki.
So happy for the school.

This is just one of many achievements aligned with the Foundation’s mission — and there’s so much more to come.

💧Water is Life. Infrastructure is Survival. Self-determination is Our Right. This week in Tel Aviv, Nova met with the CEO of IsraAID one of the world's leading humanitarian organisations.

IsraAID has operated in over 60 countries, responding to natural disasters, conflict zones, and health emergencies with long-term solutions in water purification, medical care, food systems, and psychosocial recovery. Their "communities first" approach deeply aligns with our work at the Nova Peris Foundation. Too many remote Aboriginal communities in Australia are living without safe drinking water. Many face uranium, fluoride, nitrate and arsenic contamination in their water supplies. Over 500 communities are not even regularly tested. This is not just neglect, it's a public health crisis.
And it's killing our people. Many of our mob rely on dialysis to survive. But dialysis can't happen without 300-600L of clean water per patient, per week. That's why I'm learning and exploring how IsraAID's expertise could potentially support our Foundation's vision. The Nova Peris Foundation is focused on real, long-term solutions:

Clean water tanks and filtration systems, Food sovereignty tech for healthy futures, Micro-business hubs and jobs on Country. Addressing chronic illness at the source, not just the symptoms.
