A group camp was held at Brownsea Water Activity Centre, bringing together all age sections, from Joeys through to Rovers. The camp also featured an exciting paddling expedition from Shorncliffe to Nudgee Beach, providing participants with an opportunity to develop their paddling skills, teamwork and sense of adventure.

I present to you our fabulous new District Commissioner - Nick Lawrence!
I (Julie Segal) thank everyone for their generous support during my time as DC. I am sorry to leave the role. But it is time to turn my focus fully to my RSAC role and to give the District a new and dedicated leader.
I also want to thank everyone in the District for what they have done and continue to do for their youth members and for the wider Scouting program at the District Level. Together we can and do do wonderful things. Now, just in case you don't know Nick:
Nick started his adult volunteering as the Scout Leader of the newly re-opened Scout section at Kurilpa. He built up the section and the leadership team. Eventually he moved on to being the Ekibin District Leader for the Scout section, where he achieved a lot. Most recently, he ran the Region Scout Camp. Prior to that he has actively supported all sorts of camps inc. Trailjam and other Region Camps, ensuring Adventurous Journeys are conducted within and outside of the District, and, much less visibly, he has supported any and all activities that I have been running.
Please give Nick your wonderful support in his new role. There will be challenges and changes ahead, as Scouts Qld continues its improvement programs. Nick will be a steady hand at the helm and will do a marvelous job at supporting and guiding the District. BRAVO Nick!
