The club had a footy themed meeting tonight with guest speaker Abby Christie, Vice Captain of the Yea Tigers Women's team, undefeated so far this year in 7 matches. It was a fun night with a delicious meal from the Yea Hospital auxiliary ladies. Abby spoke about the teams progress in just their second year in the comp and how much fun everyone is having and the great atmosphere at the footy club every Thursday where there is always a team dinner and the weekends teams announced.

Yea Rotarians last night catered for Yarck community members for their weekly community dinner, to give their regular cooks a night off. About 60 people enjoyed a two course meal. Rotarians happy to volunteer as a regular service but also part of National Volunteer week. Well done everyone.

The Mothers Day Classic walk/run was a great success in Yea this morning. Organised by the Yea and District Memorial Hospital, the Rotary Club cooked the sausages. President Darryl King is a whizz on the tongs with help from Rotarian Jill Heath. The food was provided by the hospital and with some left over, thrifty Darryl created 70 serves of curried sausages to go to fire hubs, such as the Highlands to be used by community members. The meals are frozen and then available to whoever needs them. Rotary in Action.
Well done to all those who ran and walked today to raise money for a great cause.

What a fun night it was celebrating the Clubs 40th Anniversary since being formed on May 1st, 1986. It was a pleasure to have D9790 District Governor Emma Davis join us for a night of celebration, as well as the Member for Eildon Cindy McLeish, Mayor of the Murrindindi Shire Damian Gallager and his wife Maree and our very first charter President Daryl Callander. Lots of visitors of other clubs were also present

We heard a little of the club's history from Charter members Les Hall and Gary Fitzgerald and also from Carol Hogg, the first woman to be inducted into the club.

Some video clips from past exchange students Lara (France), Fabio (Switzerland), Haru (Japan) and Caroline (Germany), plus in the room was Gina Callander, our very first exchange student and Andrew Foster our last exchange student, and we had Cucky who is with us now from Chile. The club has always been heavily involved in the Youth Exchange program and it has enriched the club and community in so many ways.

How good was it to acknowledge four Legends of the club, for their long-standing membership - Gary Fitzgerald, Les Hall, Rodney Ridd and John Sinclair. So much service provided just from those four special people.

After a lovely meal and birthday cake, those who still has some energy, enjoyed some bush dancing. Thanks everyone for making the night so enjoyable and special and one to remember.
Here's to the next forty years of service!

On the 111th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing, a large number of the Yea community assembled at the Yea Cenotaph for the ANZAC Day Service. Led by MC Dr Jennifer Keast, the service went well with many in the community laying beautiful wreaths when the time came. Despite some technical hiccups, Yea/Kinglake sub-branch President Jeff Swain was very happy with proceedings and the attendance. After service, many adjourned to Railway Park for a Rotary sausage sizzle.
Thanks to everyone for you contribution to the service. Appreciated by everyone. LEST WE FORGET.
