Our next market falls on the June long weekend, and it’s shaping up to be a cracker! We’re delighted to have Baby Gino’s Woodfired Pizza joining us for the day, and we hear they’ll have a special range of breakfast pizzas especially for the early risers - we can’t wait to try them!

As you know, our market is run by Yea Community House, which is one of many, many community and neighbourhood houses providing vital support services across Victoria. Over the past 10 years, neighbourhood house funding has decreased by 20% in real terms.
Neighbourhood Houses across Victoria are already reducing staff, cutting hours and scaling back programs — right now, when community need is growing.

They’re asking the state government to support a 25% increase to the Neighbourhood House Coordination Program, and we need our community to help - to call the Treasurer and a handful of key-decision makers this week to make sure we can keep the doors open.

Our sister event, Yea Cruise Night, is completely volunteer run, and what an amazing job those folks do!

A special thank you to all the volunteers who support the Yea Cruise Night season each year.

For six months of the year, so many people give their time and energy to make these events happen, whether taking photographs, managing social media, completing paperwork, ordering merchandise, directing traffic, speaking on the PA system, selling merch, or filling countless other important roles behind the scenes.

Every contribution helps each Cruise Night run smoothly and safely, and brings the community together month after month. Your dedication and teamwork are truly appreciated, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do. 💛

It’s Volunteer Week, and I’d like to give a special shout out to Brett, our dedicated volunteer without whom the Yea Railway Market simply wouldn’t happen. Brett does all of the background stuff, that often goes unnoticed, but makes a world of difference to market day - getting the banners up, marking out the site, dragging the bbq out, sorting out marquees, assisting vendors with their setup, and so much more (including changing the occasional tyre and dressing up as Santa). Brett is an integral part of the Yea Market family - we just wouldn’t be the same without him.

As part of our monthly market, we offer the opportunity for local community groups to raise funds by running a BBQ and collecting the gate takings at the market. The Market provides the BBQ, gas, marquee, tables, etc - you just bring your cooking gear and the food. While our markets later in the year are covered, we don't have a BBQ booked for our June and July markets. Please get in touch if your group would like to join us for either of those dates 🌭

Some time over the past fortnight, we've ticked over to just over 3000 followers! Our May market was also the fourth anniversary of Yea Community House taking on the management of the market. We're so grateful to the community and to our vendors for the support you give us every month. Here's to many more years and markets to come! 🎉🎉🎉
