Yarrawonga and Border CWA Branch

15/10/2026

On International Day of Rural Women as celebrated by Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW) it is fantastic to announce the formation of a new night/evening branch in Yarrawonga - Mulwala . The SUNSETTERS will be lead by Abby Barling, Chelsea Barnes and Julie Barnes as President, Secretary and Treasurer respectively.
There was a good turnout again last night and it meant that the branch could officially be started. Many of those in the room (both day and night branch members) could fulfill the criteria of "inspiring rural women" (see Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW))

Janet Mitchell ( a "woman of moira" who first joined CWA in 1970) gave some warm and welcoming advice to the new branch, most notably that they should do things their own way, developing their interests, ideas and special skills

The lovely ladies who attended the expression of interest (in forming a night branch) session on Wednesday night had a positive experience. Yes they did get to eat some scones but there was more food including a gluten free lemon curd tart.
The meeting wasn't all about food &/or craft but included information about the many activities that CWA members can get involved in as they care, empower and contribute while being kind, having fun and forming friendships
Watch this space to find out more as a new branch is formed.
