At this years Women Energising Renewables breakfast, we’re excited to welcome Senior Project Manager, Christina Young, to share her story of overcoming adversity one barrier at a time.
Christina is a proud Meriam-Samsep Torres Strait Islander woman who grew up in Gippsland. Starting her career as a trainee on Victoria’s biggest Infrastructure project, she discovered a passion for infrastructure that has taken her across Australia, delivering major projects for the past 16 years. Today, Christina is a Senior Project Manager at the SEC, working on developments that are shaping Victoria’s clean energy future.
Recognised for her commitment to community impact, Indigenous engagement and regional development, Christina is dedicated to ensuring Gippsland is at the forefront of Australia’s energy transition.
From growing up in Gippsland as an Indigenous woman to working on sites with up to 60 men in the outback, Christina has experienced an array of adversity and challenges that has built her to be the exceptional mentor and advocate for equality that she is today.
