๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿš’ FROM YANCHEP TO THE USA ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ

One of our long-serving and dedicated firefighters, Michael Wishart, is part of the Australian contingent deploying to the United States this morning to assist with the 80+ fires currently burning across the country.

Michael will be away on a 35-day deployment, taking his skills, knowledge and years of firefighting experience overseas to support firefighters and communities facing some incredibly challenging conditions.

Itโ€™s a huge commitment to pack your bags, leave your family and home behind for more than a month and head halfway across the world to lend a hand when itโ€™s needed most.

Michael has given many years of dedicated service to our brigade and community, and weโ€™re incredibly proud to see one of our own representing not only Yanchep Volunteer Fire & Rescue Service, but Western Australia and Australia on the international stage. ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ

From everyone at Yanchep VFRS, we wish Michael and everyone deploying alongside him a safe journey and, most importantly, a safe deployment.

Do us proud, mate. Stay safe, look after each other and weโ€™ll see you back home soon! ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ

Hereโ€™s our 46 WA firefighters and incident management specialists who are today on their way to the United States to help battle devastating wildfires.

Weโ€™re proud of you and stay safe!

๐Ÿšจ Community Notice โ€“ Training Tonight ๐Ÿšจ

If you happen to see red and blue lights or our crew wearing breathing apparatus around Greenside Drive Park in the Golf Course Estate tonight, thereโ€™s no need to be alarmed.

Weโ€™ll be conducting a training exercise focused on breathing apparatus (BA) operations and manoeuvrability. This is a planned training scenario designed to help our firefighters build and maintain their skills in a safe, controlled environment.

Thanks for your understanding and support! ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿš’๐Ÿš’

Today, on International Firefighters' Day, we pause to honour those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, and to pay tribute to the courage, sacrifice and unwavering commitment of firefighters.

These moving words are a fitting tribute to the brave individuals who put themselves in harm's way to protect our communities - we express our deepest gratitude to all firefighters for your service.
