On Monday 3rd August our Guest Speaker was Andrew Black, Community Engagement Manager as t Uniting. Andrew spoke about the advantages of living at Uniting Yamba. Everyone was invited to attend an Italian-inspired afternoon celebrating la dolce vita-the sweet life on Thursday 27th August/12:00pm at the Deckhouse, Uniting Yamba, 4 Freeburn Street, Yamba.
Registrations are essential. Call Aurora Pagonis on 0435 438 456 to reserve your place.

The Yamba Probus Club will be holding their August meeting on Monday the 3rd, arriving at 10.15am, starting at 10.30am. The venue being Yamba Bowling Club, Wooli Street, Yamba.

Cost per person is $7.00 each and this entitles you to tea / coffee and biscuits. We also have two Lucky Door draws at $10.00 each.

At the Yamba Probus monthly meeting for June, we had a wonderful local resident Betty Callaway speak to us about her trip to Israel.
Betty showed us many interesting photos. I would like to mention that Betty didn't start enjoying her overseas holidays until she was in her 80's and has continued visiting many other countries as well. She is now in her 90's. She is one amazing woman enjoying life and full of joy.
Thank you Betty you are an inspiration to us all.

On Monday at our Probus Meeting we had the privilege of having Paul MacNamara as Guest Speaker. Paul has been a Teacher, also a Prison Teacher with the Adults and Juvenile in the Justice system. He has become an Author and has had two books printed. These books can be purchased in Yamba at selected stores.

Scrabble: If you enjoy a game of Scrabble the Yamba Probus Club have changed their day they play at the Yamba Bowling Club.

Scrabble will be played on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month, starting at 10.00 am.

After Scrabble you may like to enjoy having lunch together. Hoping to see you there.

The Probus Club had the pleasure to have Ian Thompson as our Guest Speaker yesterday. Ian was born in Perth and spent many years in Port Moresby. He spoke about his family and al their experiences and achievements.
Ian is involved with U3A and runs Buddhist Philoscophy, also is an entertainer who performs in a number of Aged Care Homes.
