Sun, surf and strong connections in Yamba 🌊💚 we minus the sun and replace with sideways rain

We recently wrapped up an incredible surf session with Surf Camps Down Under, bringing first responders together from across the Mid North Coast, with participants travelling from as far as Coffs Harbour.

While the weather had other plans, it didn’t dampen the experience. Time in the water has a way of bringing people together, and this session did exactly that.

This was one of the final activities delivered through Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR) grant, supporting first responders in disaster-impacted communities who continue to go above and beyond. It’s been powerful to see participants connect, recharge and take a well-earned moment for themselves.

A huge thank you to Shayno and the team at and to FRRR , for making opportunities like this possible.

A few weeks ago on a Sunday we had sideways rain and crazy swells but it didn’t stop these hero’s aka first responders

Every year we try to give back to an organisation or community group in some way, shape or form and this just fit perfectly

Showing these legends that it’s ok to be a beginner at something, it’s ok to do something for yourself (these legends involved in these services are usually always helping others) and have a laugh at the same time is ok!!!

So thank you to Kerryanne for organising and making it happen
