Live Well Tasmania Community Garden

Live Well Tasmania Community Garden Live Well Tasmania’s Grow Gather Give Garden , a shared garden at Wynyard High School.

Established in early 2020 Grow Gather Give aims to provide fresh produce to the community and Food Relief organisations. We aim to educate & give workshops on growing & maintaining sustainable fresh produce gardens for individuals, organisations, institutions and businesses using best practice method of permaculture, being environmentally aware of the local surrounds and taking into consideration

water management. We aim to show and share with the community how to have a sustainable garden in small or larger environments, rented property, business courtyards, schools to assist with food security, general health & well being. The work we do includes:
• Providing fresh produce to Food Relief organisations where the community can access locally grown produce that might otherwise have gone to waste
• Experiment with and improve sustainable farming & gardening practices.
• Training beginning Gardeners in sustainable organic permaculture techniques.
• Helping children discover the sources of their food while preparing them to steward the land that provides it.
• Increase public awareness of healthy, seasonal and sustainable food. We will be applying for government funds to use to invest in our community, playing our part towards achieving better health and education outcomes that may lead to a brighter future for individuals and Tasmania.
