ELDERS EVENING – WHAT A WONDERFUL NIGHT!

What a fantastic evening of connection, laughter, yarning and community at our Elders Evening! 👵🏽👴🏽✨

We had a fabulous turnout, with generations coming together to enjoy an evening filled with bingo, raffles, games, delicious food, plenty of yarns and lots of laughter! 🎉❤️

It was wonderful to see our Elders, families, young people and community members connecting, sharing stories and enjoying each other’s company. The smiles, conversations and good energy made the evening a great success! 🥰

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the night so special. We loved seeing our community come together and celebrate intergenerational connection. ❤️

This event was proudly supported by the Department of Communities.

🎨✨ Session #6 of the WYAC Creativity & Wellbeing Program brought our young people together for an afternoon of creativity, connection, and positive wellbeing. 💛

This session, we explored “Worry Monsters” 👹💭. Our young people took part in a guided discussion where they had the opportunity to share some of the worries they experience and talk about positive and healthy ways they can cope with and manage those worries. 🌱💬

We then got creative and used paper mache to make the bases of our very own Worry Monsters! 🎨👐 It was wonderful to see our young people getting involved, sharing ideas, supporting one another, and expressing themselves through creativity.

This is a two-part session, and we’re excited to continue bringing our Worry Monsters to life! ✨

📊 Staff Training & Digital Data Collection

Today, our Diversionary Program and Night Space teams took part in a training session focused on strengthening our daily data collection processes.

We are working towards transitioning our daily program data collection to a digital system, supporting greater efficiency, consistency and accuracy in how we record and monitor our services.

A great step forward in strengthening our systems and ensuring we continue to provide responsive, effective services for our young people and community. 🌿

🎨✨ Session #5 of the WYAC Creativity & Wellbeing Program brought our young people together for another afternoon of creativity, connection, and cultural learning. 🧶💛

Our young people explored totem making and beaded jewellery making.

It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved, experimenting with different colours, patterns, and designs, while supporting and encouraging one another along the way. The session was filled with creativity, conversations, laughter, and plenty of proud smiles as our young people showed off their finished creations. 🌈✨

Activities like these provide a safe and supportive space for young people to build confidence, develop new skills, strengthen wellbeing, and connect with culture and community through creativity. 💛

We encourage more parents to send their young people along to these activities and be part of our upcoming sessions!

Wyndham and surrounds who are interested in working in the food business, please email your resume to [email protected] . We are also taking on traineeships and apprentices.

Due to upcoming business diversification into the Hospitality sector. WYAC is looking for an experienced and motivated Chef.
