🌧 WYCHPROOF RAIN UPDATE 🌧

Since 4pm yesterday we’ve had another 50mm here in Wycheproof.

A solid overnight fall with steady rain pushing through the district. The ground has certainly had a good drink and there’s plenty of surface water about this morning.

⚠️ There are Severe Weather Warnings and Flood Watches active across parts of Northern Victoria, so take care on the roads — especially on dirt tracks and low-lying areas.

🌤 The good news is the rain is easing and we’re looking at a drying window from tomorrow, with sunshine and temps building back into the high 20s later in the week.

Great moisture profile heading forward — just need a few dry days now to tidy things up.

🌧 WYCHE WEATHER – RAIN UPDATE 🌧

Good afternoon all,

From 12pm yesterday through to 4pm today, we’ve recorded 26.5mm in the gauge — as you can see below 👇

A very welcome drop across Wycheproof and surrounds 👏

And we’re not done yet.

Forecast models are split. One suggests another 5–10mm through to 12pm tomorrow… while another is throwing around much bigger numbers, closer to 50–100mm.

Watching how the system is moving, I’d expect we could see a fair burst overnight and into tomorrow morning.

We’ll keep a close eye on it and update if needed.

⚠️ There is a Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall across parts of Victoria, with potential for heavy downpours and localised flooding during the afternoon/evening. If you’re moving trucks or working outdoors around Wycheproof, keep an eye on radar and road conditions.

General Conditions for the 17th of Feb

Currently warm and partly cloudy into the afternoon.

Temperatures rising to 34 °C / 94 °F by the afternoon with a light to moderate breeze.

Very high UV – sun protection recommended if you’re outside.

Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) official forecast

Sunny and hot overall with daytime temps in the mid-30s.

Little to no rain expected today.

Winds generally from the south to southeast around 15-30 km/h.

High fire danger conditions given dry and hot weather.

Good evening to Wycheproof. Just a quick update for everyone. It’s been pretty quiet on the weather front. Nothing to exciting to report…. BUT, in the next 2-3 weeks we could see something substantial. Is it too late for rain? Or will it come at a perfect time?

Most models are showing a large rainfall in a couple of weeks. Here is a sneak at one of them. Will it or won’t it 🤷🏼‍♂️ will it help or won’t it 🤷🏼‍♂️…. Let’s wait and see as we get closer.
