Meet the artists bridging performance, practice and wellbeing at this year’s ASPAH Conference!

From the orchestral mastery of Francesco Lo Surdo, founder of Brass Rehab and horn player with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, to the award-winning stage presence of Amy Lehpamer, one of Australia’s most versatile musical theatre stars, and the boundary-pushing movement artistry of Cecilia Martin, an interdisciplinary dancer and acrobat — this panel brings together extraordinary performers with powerful stories to share.

Join us for an inspiring discussion exploring artistry, injury, resilience and the realities of life on (and off) the stage. 🎭

The floor beneath a dancer’s feet is more than just a surface — it’s the foundation of every leap, turn and landing.

ASPAH is proud to partner with Harlequin Floors Australia for our upcoming Annual Conference, highlighting the vital role that the right dance floor plays in supporting performance excellence and dancer well-being.

A dance floor is not simply part of the space — it’s an active partner in every rehearsal and performance. The right flooring provides essential shock absorption, grip, and support, reducing the risk of injuries such as joint strain or stress fractures. Beneath the vinyl lies a sprung floor, designed to cushion landings and protect the body from impact, while the vinyl surface offers a consistent, slip-resistant texture — enough traction to prevent slipping, but not so much that it restricts turns or movement.

With a properly engineered floor, dancers can move with freedom, express their artistry fully, and trust that their bodies are supported with every step. Investing in high-quality flooring isn’t just about improving performance — it’s about safeguarding the long-term health, safety, and sustainability of dance as a profession.

We’re thrilled to have Harlequin Floors joining us in person at the ASPAH 2025 Conference, where they’ll be available all weekend to chat with delegates, share their expertise, and answer questions about creating safe, high-performance dance environments.

Together, ASPAH and Harlequin Floors are committed to advancing dancer health and creating environments where performers can thrive — from stage to study. 🎭📚
