QCWA Springbrook/Mudgeeraba

QCWA Springbrook/Mudgeeraba We are a not for profit group. New members are welcome. We meet on the first Tuesday of the month. We enjoy the friendship and camaraderie of our group members.

We especially aim to be supportive of our members and women and children in our community. We meet at the main pavilion in the Mudgeeraba Showgrounds at 9.30am on the first Tuesday of the month. On the third Tuesday of the month, we also meet for a social coffee and catch-up and we love to meet new people. The QCWA responds to a variety of needs in our community. For example, we have donated handc

rafted 'Trauma Teddies' to comfort sick children, beanies for the homeless, knitted blankets for dialysis patients and toiletry packs for domestic violence shelters. Our Branch also provides support for the local school children through a Bursary as well as supporting the School Chaplin service. Each year we have a stall at the 'Mudgeeraba Day' street party which is a lot of fun and which raises funds to support our work within the community.

Mudgeeraba Day, the 18th year! Thanks to Councillor Glenn Tozer and the Events Agency team for another fabulous day. A huge thank you to everyone that supported us in any way. Also, how wonderful that the expected rain held off until later on! A blessing. We love our spot with the shelter but it was better that we didn't need to use it! πŸ˜‰
Profits from today will be funnelled back into the community.
We'll be congratulating ourselves at coffee ... next Tuesday 19th at Gathering and Co, 9.30. Hope to see you there. πŸ˜€

Today was our May meeting, and the Branch Cookery competition. Thanks to all that took the time to enter. Thanks also, to our judge Mariana Gates, for her expertise and for the sharing of her thoughts and tips with the eager audience.
The "Ettie Hinze " Cookery trophy was awarded to the best ANZAC biscuits. What a difficult class to judge, sorry Mariana! πŸ˜‰ Well done to Janet Weier for gaining first place. A very well deserved win.
Thank you to Barry and Gwen Hinze for taking the time to attend the meeting and for presenting the trophy. It was every special to have you there.
We all enjoyed a cuppa, chat and bite to eat afterwards.
Our next stall will be at Mudgeeraba Day on Sunday the 17th of May. Come and say hi to the members and perhaps pick up some lovely goods to take home. See you then! And yes there will be Rosella jam! πŸ˜€
